Description
This is a tutorial which explains the basics of how to port DOA5LR models from their TMC game format into XPS format. I'd like to thank SSPD077 for teaching me how to port DOA5LR models, and now I pass my knowledge down to my followers and those who have no porting knowledge. If you have any questions, problems or complaints, please state them in the comments below and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.In order to properly port DOA5LR models, you'll need the following software:
-Blender Version 2.79b.
-XNALara Posing Studio Version 11.8 or higher.
-DOA5LR Archive and Texture Tools.
-DOA5LR Transformer Tools by TimmyC and Riry Sukisuki.
-TMC and XPS Import/Export scripts for Blender.
-XPS ASCII Editor by Zareef.
-A text file editor such as Notepad or Notepad++.

This tutorial covers:
-How to import and export TMC and XPS format files into and from Blender.Β
-How to quickly rename bones and clean armatures.
-How to add root hips bones to a model if a root ground bone already exists.
-How to attach a head in XPS using CTRL+M and edit ASCII fiels using Notepad++.
This tutorial does NOT cover:
-How to parent and child bones.
-How to add bones to separate meshes such as hats.
-How to use texture maps to remove certain parts of the mesh.
-How to merge vertices or join/separate mesh parts.

Here is a reference list from Part 20 on how much you must raise the model on the Y axis direction to align its feet with the ground.

When I clicked "clean armature" it said "can not load this ascii file""loading error". I found the names ofΒ bones in the left side didn't change , but it changed after I clicked "load the generic item file".
I don't know what's wrong , maybe because my model has a lot of bones that a standard DOA template doesn't include? I hided them all,Β don't know if it's feasible.

Confused.
I have installed DOA5LR on Windows. The games files contain neither TMC nor TML files!
Only LNK and BIN files exists in the game data.
I want to port the models myself. I do not want to download the hard work (tmc/tml files) of other users, and then claim it as OWN port.
This tutorial covers:
-How to import and export TMC and XPS format files into and from Blender.
This tutorial does NOT cover:
-How to get the tmc / tml files by extract and decrypt the game filesΒ
Missing (and important) parts in your tutorial
1) first you must extract the .lnk and .bin files
2) on the files you have extract, you have convert it now.Β then you will have a bunch of ext files
3) now you have to decrypt the ext files, now you have a bunch of files with funky names that are extracted and decrypted.

if you look at the files in a hex editor the model name is clearly visible
for instance, the first funky name refer to LEIFANG_COS_001.TMC, the 2nd is AYANE_COS_001.TMC
4) now you have to rename the files to tmc and tml
In my opinion, downloading and using the TMC files om other porter's, is the same (but much more cumbersome) than usingΒ directly the .ascii and .xps files from other porters.Β It has nothing to do with "How to Port DOA5LR Models to XNALara"

You don't need to decrypt anything. Just use the archive tool in the zip file link to extract the TMC files from the BIN files.
This tutorial DOES cover port DOA5LR models to XPS, so you're wrong. TMC files ARE the default model file format of DOA5LR models.

Any Tutorial to remove backfaces? Because ive want remove backface culling from Mai ribbon in yours ponytail models.

To remove backfaces, select the mesh and enter edit mode, then press P, then select "By Loose Parts," then just delete the dark mesh.

Hmm, this was simpler than I thought it would. My only gripe about this whole process is the adding materials in Blender. If only we could just port the blank model into XPS and add the materials in there.
