*Two weeks after Carter died, seven days since Matriarch Rezesia made a full recovery. En route to Freelancer base where reports of a monster running lose were made*

Rezesia: *opens door to base and sees blood everywhere* Most likely that monster, but now I am stronger and I will kick its butt really really hard! *heads down numerous bloodstained halls before arriving at a room where the Meta is about to mercilessly execute the last Freelancer in the base*

Freelancer: Help! That monster called the Meta has killed every Freelancer in the base and he is going to kill me!

Meta: You will die for wanting to kill me! *points gun at Freelancer who is cowering on the floor*

Rezesia: Stop! You will not take any more lives!

Meta: Make me! *shoots and kills Freelancer*I am the Meta, I cannot be stopped! HAHAHAHAHA!

Rezesia: We will see about that, Meta! *uses supercharged biotics to take on Meta and the battle destroys a large part of the Freelancer base*

Meta: She is on the same level as me! *retreats from battle to not get wiped out*

Rezesia: *panting from battle* At least I chased him off, he will be back.

Well, I was just poking around your gallery and you asked me to guess what was going on in their minds. Admittedly I imagine the Meta is thinking very little, so I just decided to do the nameless victim.

The 'Great War'. I really don't know what people mean when they say that anymore. The insurrectionists almost stopped us on their own, long before the Covenant started to storm our planets, turning their very soil to glass. Either way we were there to win it, so the Director had told us. We'd all been part of an army project, something new to give us an edge. Then they started to give us enhancements to our armour, and A.I. to run it. No, to run us. They made us faster, stronger, smarter, and all the while we just made ourselves targets to this thing. He was butchering us all like cattle, claiming scraps of their armour to piece himself together as some sort of God. I doubt even the almighty Texas could've stopped him, no man should've ever held that much power.

Yet he did.

I'd like to say my life flashed before my eyes, that I remembered dear memories I had of loved ones, of cherished moments and of things I'd never had. I'd like to have said that I thought of my girlfriend, whom was but a rank and file marine before taking a plasma shot to the stomach and bleeding out alone, or maybe of my mother, who had raised me alone. But I didn't. All I could do is stare down the barrel of that fucking gun.

He'd got a lucky shot, if that, but a glancing blow from whatever ungodly grenade launcher he wielded was enough to turn my leg into a bloody stump. My very thoughts began to slip away from me, I knew I wouldn't make it even if I was lying on an operating table, I'd see too many die to be oblivious to that, but the thought of him letting me perish from shock instead of wasting ammunition angered me more than the fact I had become just another tally to him.

"DO IT!" I roared, reaching out with my hand as I attempted a feeble attempt at forward motion. I don't know if he flinched, or if he was regarding my wish, or even if he was going to do it all along. But either way I never even heard the shot.

And then it all went black.

Agent Michigan: "C'mon Maine, Don't do this, i don't like the freelancers either, how bout we work together, i got guns, vehicles, and tech equipment for your armor."
Meta: (Growls and lowers the gun slowly till its pointing at the floor.)
Agent Michigan: "And best of all, you can use a copy of Mu to use your armor abilities.") a small perky holographic woman wearing an engineering outfit appears over Mich's shoulder.
Mu: "Hi, i'm Mu."
Meta: (Hiss) Grabs Mich by the back of the head and proceeds to rip the entire back of the helmet off and pull out the AI chip and absorb Mu.
Mich: "WHAT THE FUCK MAINE!? Why'd you do that?"
Meta: levels the gun with Mich's head and chuckles.
Mich: "Wait, no DONT SH'-" BAM!!! Mich falls to the ground, A gaping hole in the visor of his operator helmet and an even bigger hole, taking out half his head, in the back of his head.
Mu: "Hmmm damn shame, oh well and machines break eventually, even organic ones. So what are we up t... we're searching for Alp... I mean him? Okay."

Hope this fits the picture well enough.
