Postscript April 06 : Our constant companion of 18 years just passed away. Glad I did this piece to honor the "old man."

Awww. Such a bittersweet image, reminds me of my beloved Kiki who was simliar in facial structure but a blnder color. She was an SPCA dog and we had her for 17 years.

Perhaps its the mixed pedigrees you find in dogs rescued from the pound, but they often seem to live longer than their counterpart pure breeds. Whatever. When we have them with us for such a long time, they stop becoming animals and morph into another one of our "children." Made this one for my wife out of respect for her constant companion, not realizing that he would pass away the following year.

Thanks for your comments.

Thank you for the comment and the favorite . I always find animals the hardest to draw or photograph well, despite their innate lovability.
