That's nice. I like what you did and I do want to put it on my deviations with the comment that you edited it. I do think it looks better, however the question remains...Is it still photography if it has been edited? It is definitely still art, but isn't photography what an artist does through the lens of a camera?

Is that a question for me?Mmm,I guess it still is.I meant it depends how much you tweaked a photo, isn`t it?We all need to do those curves/contrasts/tones in softwares for a pic, don`t we?

Actually, it was for xseption, I'm still new at this.
Do we? Can't a good photographer do that with only the camera? (I'm a beginner). And doesn't our willingness to edit the pictures reduce the motivation to improve as a photographer....after all, oh well, I can just fix it in photoshop

there is some merit to what you are saying ... unfortunately, it depends on the camera, the actual photo, the scanner, etc. The more aptitude you have with the camera, the less editting will be needed and you are more likely to take less shots, because you have captured the photo in your mind's eye that much quicker.
I believe a photograph is an interpretation of what you see ... it has to go through the water (in this case), the lens, hit the film, etc. which all introduce deviations of what you see. Back in the day, the chemicals use to develop film could be altered or time delayed to give more/less contrast, more/less brightness, vivid colors, etc., and after it all dried you had a photograph. Was it a picture the photographer had in mind? If not, he/she could go back and reprocess it until it came out like he/she wanted. Now we do the same process but in a digital format.
Nowadays, I look at photography as an art form. The finished product (whether digitally altered or not) is what is shared and I did not have to alter the actual chemical process to get what I want to share.
