Če nimate najmanjše ideje o čem se to gre, potem vas vljudno prosim: brez trapastih komentarjev.
Pozor: Spodnji kometnar vsebuje določene neresnice, napisane v uncyclopedia stilu (npr.

(Sam so baje Plitvička jezera dost lepa. Smo baje že dostrkat šli mem ko smo se peljal na morje. Žal ponoči, tak de nism nč vidu.))

How it's made:
Gimp in 3-4 ure GIMP-anja. To je blo sam barvanje. Originalna risba (črn kemik na bel list) je pa nastajala vsaj dvakrat dlje (sicer glavni razlog gre iskati v dejstvu, da je nastajala med poukom...)
Original slika je pa tukej: [link]

All stuff here is related to my writing project 'The Beastkeeper'. Should anyone use any of the stuff comment or that artwork of mine, he'll face horrifying consequences.

This is the Beast, a dragon-like being (<-- that's me complicating. It's a dragon which can live in water as well as in the air and on solid ground, but has no special abilities as breathing fire and so on. But, as the Swampers don't know the word 'dragon', they use word Beast instead. Writren with capital B, as that is also the name.), which haunts the forests round the settlement of the Swamp (the Swamp for short).
One day, the Beast was hungry and he decided he shall go hunting. Mirtvil, 25-year-old man was most unfortunate being at the time: he was closest to the Beast, so the Beast caught him and carried him away. But evil luck during that flight made the Beast crash down in the woods, where he broke his wing. When he hit the solid ground, he let Mirtvil "fly" quite far away. Mirtvil also broke few bones, but main difference between Mirtvil and the Beast was that Lowgrown, a daughter of Goldenbeard, the chief of the tribe of the Swamp found him and dragged him to the Swamp, where he was taken care of.
But the Beast had no one to take care of him, so he could only drag himself on the clearing in the forests around the Shallow Lakes, waiting for death to get him.

'Enega' is one of the forms of 'one'. (In this particular case it's accusative male form of 'one', to be precise. Also applies to genitive male form and accusative middle (grammar gender) form.)

They are, even if they've been possessed by evil spirits (or, as layman might say, even if they are evil).

And well, you're no different than I am. (Okay there are few exceptions...)

I also feel bad for our kind was rarely found of dragons in the past, I think you know the evil deed of saint George...

Saint George.
He slew a dragon to "save" the village. If you ask me, I don't believe this. That was just a set-up for dragons. A dragon which isn't higher than your knees cant do you no harm. He cant harm you.

It's theory time, and warning - I could get a little snouty (extremely talkative):
It could be Harry Potter's fault, I never trusted this guy...
Or Ron, he seemed anti-talented to me at some moments.

But, it was not a flame that could threaten anyone. One bucket of water and... WTF (Where's The Fire)?

I'd say Hagrid was an extreme case, he had a chance to get very talented dragon... Or it might happen that world of Harry Potter doens't emulate dragons right, I don't know. I don't like Harry Potter as much as I used to; I think books lost their point with 5th book. Also, I haven't read it or watch movies for few years now...

Ahh i don't mind, and interesting theory! Maybe your right.. and I think that the whelps of big dangerious dragons can breathe fire, not dragons that are small at adult age..

Well, I'm still against that and think that's rather exception than rule.

But, I think that knowledge of dragons - dragon science can be as complicated as rocket science, since it's clear that many authors build their own ways how everything with dragons function (Example, if we take Eragon (don't know if I like it or not), Harry Potter (well, there's not much about dragons in it but still), How To Train Your Dragon (epic), A Song of Ice and Fire (well... nice read, I used to read it durring the lessons), Never Ending Story (not really a dragon book but you find one in it), Dragonlance (less dragons that I expected, "borrowed" audiobooks, storyline is excellent according to one and a half I've listened too), Hobbit (our translation is disaster since lots of words and places have different names than in Lord of the Rings), Beowulf (oh well...) my other writing project and so forth, same's at computer games (Đragon Age: Origins (epic) vs. Divinity II(more epic)) it turns out clearly that there is no universal standard of what dragon is.)
(okay, that was one huge wall of text again. Could write an essay, I think...)

Most of the names are ones I've heard of it, some books, and movies have I readed/watched too xD And I agree, How To Train Your Dragon is epicness! I see many examples.. and you sure got many knowledge about dragons!

I got a good game example with dragons: World of Warcraft! Epic and Dragons have a very important role in here =3 The newest expansion (and probably the last) will have a dragon as main boss.. (epic game though)

xTernal7 In reply to Gamelady12 [2010-06-15 16:40:47 +0000 UTC]

World of Warcraft what is that? (joking, I know it's most popular MMORPG with most players. I know there are dragons in it - schoolmate and xFire screenshots, I know it's not free (unlike Đragon Age: Origins and Divinity II (Okay well, depends on your source), you have high chances of getting addicted, of getting uber-geek, that some accounts are worth lots of money, lots of people died because of it - and suprisingly, a Finnish boy and his sister (I think they were Finnish, I don't remember all the news I hear) that survived a meeting with very angry deer just because the boy was such a WoW geek. Famous WoW geeks: Saint George. <--Okay, that's some data.) But I'll believe you that it's epic - if you count out long journey times durring the quests - because a)things you have to pay aren't rubbish (save for Win Vista) and b)if it has 11M players +...
Well, shame dragon will be main boss... I'd rather see one in my party at Đragon Age: Origins... (According to knowledge of my shcoolmate who is happily spoiling me the game - though that is also quite obvious thing you can guess yourself: Arch Demon is a dragon, Flemmeth the shapeshifter can shapeshift to a dragon, Urn of Sacred ashes is protected by dragon /spoiled by my schoolmate). They should release How To Train Your Dragon patch for Đragon Age: Origins (DAO).
Divinity II: Ego Draconis, however, pwns DAO at everything: User experience, computer requirements (DAO, best settings: 23 fps while Divinity II at best settings lags as hell on my laptop, only 5 fps or something like that). And - main reason why Divinity II is better than DAO: In Divinity II, you are a dragon. Well, to be precise, at some point in the game you become a dragon knight and then, at some moment, you get ability to shapeshift in dragon form. Downside of that game is that it's not detected by xFire and that I had to google some solutions quite a few times.
I'd reccomend both, if you don't want to buy them, just try them, free trials which are as good as original games (also, with all add-ons) are to be found at the bay of the pirates (read: full game (For PC) can be illegally downloaded from thepiratebay, cracked, you need no CDs - but you're not recommered to log in with your EA account)

And yes, those games give me much stuff about the dragons but... if you try to put everything to common denominator, then you get a mess, for half of books and games and so forth are based on wrong interpretations about dragons. (There's not as much evil dragons, percent of evil dragons is equal to percent of evil humans).
That is officially the longest comment of mine on deviantART. EVER.

Gamelady12 In reply to xTernal7 [2010-06-15 17:25:28 +0000 UTC]

Wow quite a big reference about those games! I've alwas wanted DragonAge but I'm not allowed buy other MMO's cuz my dad's already paying three accounts, his, my brother's and mine. And these stories and info makes me want it more! But the other MMO Dvinity II sounds cool too! I'm going watch trailers or something to learn more about it.

I agree about the percentages of evil dragons and humans.. but that means that they exist.. I'll never forget Neltharion, who was good in begin but betrayed his friends, and did so much bad things.. way more terrible then a bad human can do..

But are dragons, who are doing bad things because they're hopeless and don't know anymore what to do evil?

(woot, in reply of your longest comment, my longest reply! O.o)

xTernal7 In reply to Gamelady12 [2010-06-15 19:49:52 +0000 UTC]

Emm, I know where's confusion from.

Đragon Age: Origins and Divinity II: Ego Draconis are not MMOs, they're just RPG and they're just single-player. The only thing why you'd need an EA account at Đragon Age: Origins is to download add-ons (which can be found easily at thepiratebay I believe, if you're going for illegal, but for less money and - that versions I have are also without any viruses.)
(Đragon Age: Origins is by data I have from xFire my most played game with 106 hours of playing)

Neltharion?
*google>wow.
-character has been added to use.me list for my writing project dgn.sl - though, character will be changed.
**

That's a good question, and I don't think that I'd say dragon who does bad things because he's hopeless is an evil dragon - it might be possible to make his life a new sense, and show him the bright side of life, to reveal him what he is - to show him the good that (hopefully) still lives inside of him.

If I return to art which was source of this discussion I really enjoy, by the way, the Beast is the same. (I'd mention that if I go to the details, he isn't really a dragon, but only dragon-like being - but that does't matter, for he can do everything my dragons can). Though he wasn't doing any evil deeds - hunting animals and people (there's no difference between animals and people for the Beast) for his own survival is not an evil thing though, but his accident drives him desperate, and all he desires is death. He declines all the help which Mirtvil offers him, but -well, Mirtvil doesn't give up and proves us once for all - beasts like the Beast and dragons can be good allies, and you can turn them from thoughts of darkness and evil to the ways of good. That would be extend of the answer to your question.

An add to everything.

Well, why dragons do evil deeds. It might be because - yes, their life is getting hopeless, might that be only because they're evil and look just for their asses. It might be that some of blackrobes / blood mages / whatever have put an evil spell upon the dragon. It might be that they're evil by heart, as some humans are. It might be the dragon was enslaved, so he (<-- popout: dragon is always a he at me, in rare ocassions it's she. Almost never it's it, as would be correct in English; reason is that 'it' is to impersonal.) is forced to do evil deeds. Reasons are many.

And this would be the second largest post under comments on deviantART ever.

Ahh sorry for the confusion.. 106 hours is many! If I check how long I played my character at W.o.W, it says about 7 days and 11 hours.. I wonder how long that's. cuz I'm bad at maths xD

And what do you mean with writing project?

And very very interesting answer, I think I agree with the fact that from good inside that can come back to mind.. and I understand the reasons but I don't think there are people or dragons with evil inside the hearts, it has always a reason, maybe a happening in younger ages that made them so?

But I wonder why my favourite dragon, Malygos the Spell-Weaver, is so against the other dragon aspects, even he's one of them and against Neltharion (yes he's from W.o.W too) The database is so unsharp about it.. maybe because Neltharion killed his mate and folk, I don't know.

And about the 'he', 'she' or 'it' thing, I accept your way of using it.. I use always 'he' for dragons too, except if I know it's a dragoness.. I agree that 'it' is so unpersonal..

And this is my longest reply ever

179 hours... (7 days 11 hours) that's almost all my games combined since I'm using xFire while playing games...

Writing project. I'm writing a story - okay, stories - TheBeastkeeper (short: TBK)(project this drawing of mine is related to) - it's shorter, will be a single book if I'll be putting it out - but I'll be searching for publishers when it's complete. Longer project is Dragonworld (short: dgn.sl) and is vast - in my gallery, I have some art related to it - mostly linearts, I'm not sure if there are any colored art for this one. But I think that I made more art for the latter, Dragonworld, while I've written... more or less none yet, while TheBeastkeeper came quite far: 21 A4 pages and 11 000 words - it's a long way to go for both my writing projects.

And you know that you're very helpful with your replies... Your ideas have effect on me building my mind about the dragons, and I like that. Especially that your idea: but I don't think there are people or dragons with evil inside the hearts, it has always a reason, maybe a happening in younger ages that made them so? allows - okay, forces thinking about past of a darkside character... And guess what? More story. More story, more time to enjoy your imaginary world.

Also, one thing that's my speciality is that I'm already searching for betas, who read my work and then comment it (well, it's good to know whether my writing is good or bad while I'm writing it already) - but I don't publish it anywhere - there are many reasons for that, this things are private - in the case of forums where I found betas, I was sending the story via private messages.

That's about my writing projects - hope I cleared it, otherwise I can try again.

And on the matter of why your favourite dragon is so against other dragon aspects... Well, when a human is so against other races, we usually call that racism... Or Nazism, if someone is against other nations.
But I think that your favourite dragon could be very distrustful to the others. In the world full of treachery, it can be much better explanation than racism or Nazism. I'd say that he learn as I learnt a few times already: if you want to do it well, do it yourself; and: if you rely on the others, you will certainly fail when the time will be right (or wrong).
One possible explanation is that your dragon likes it 'free-for-all'...
Eh, theories again. Do they at least make sense?

Wow that's much time... I must play less WoW O.o

Interesting project, If you can find a publisher when it's done, I would like to buy it, since I can understand english very well.. Can you maybe tell in short where the both projects are about?

Aww thanks for the compliment! I'm glad that I'm helping you with creativity and imaginary.. maybe I should write a story about my three god characters too, your replies are helping me too!

I know now way more what betas are, I saw sometimes in other people's artist comments by their stories.. but never known what/who they were..

Interesting theory! I think that Malygos is maybe distrustful, like you said but then I shouldn't know why, he was always being good friends with the others, especially Neltharion.. wait! That's maybe the reason being distrustful.. Your theory is helpful!

Well, that could sound queer, but... Plots are not strictly defined, though The Beastkeeper /TBK has more detailed plot than Dragonworld /dgn.sl
If I start with The Beastkeeper, seeing you're interested. First a word or two about the project itself. It started in late September, and it's based on this image [link] (I re-edited it but not uploaded to deviantART. As you see, the Beast was not always a dragon-like being, in origin he was a serpent, like Scottish Nessie, serpent of the Loch Ness, though he never had fur. This is result of me didn't have knowledge about scales and so), and it had two plots that I've already gave up, seeing that there is no future in that. The story was titled the same as the project then, though the title is now different.
Now, short about the story TheBeastkeeper version 3 which has a title 'A Tale of a Man and the Beast'.
Yes, and this is going to be long one.

Mirtvil, a man of 25 winters, came to the settlement of the Swamp (original: Mlaka, translation to English is not literal), a settlement built upon a great rock rising high out of the Lake of the Swamp. He, with a party of four men, is on a trading trip and stops at the Swamp on his way home, for week or two. Then, they were rare days when travellers came to the Swamp, with stories and news, so they welcomed them and gave them shelter. In that time, they are telling stories, and -except from food and shelter- they hear some of Swampish stories as well.
One, however, is a true story about the real reason why the Swamp doesn't get any guests or travellers, despite the fact it lies on the crossroad of trade routs: the reason is the beast which haunts the forests and the Swamp itself, and according to the stories death cannot touch him - no matter what happened to him, the Beast survived.
Mirtvil, however, is unfortunate enough and gets caught by the Beast - but, while the Beast is carrying him towards a calm place where he intended to eat him, the skies darken and the winds push the Beast in the forest. For it happens so quickly, the Beast cannot react, and he crashes into a tree with his wing. Unfortunately for him, his wing gets broken in the crash, and while his crash he drops his prey, Mirtvil. Mirtvil is lucky this time, lake ahead in which he falls saves his life.

About a month later, Mirtvil is still in the Swamp, for he broke some bones durring his fall. In the month he stays, a love between him and Lowgrown, the daughter of the leader of the tribe of the settlement of the Swamp. (Wow, a lot of "of the"-s) They want to get mates, but first Mirtvil wants to introduce Lowgrown to his parents, and before they leave, Lowgrown has a wish to have a last walk trough the forests of the Swamp, for they aren't sure if they'll ever returned.
On this walk, they come across the Beast, who is lying in the middle of a clearing. The fact is that the Beast wouldn't hesitate to kill and eat human and animal alike, shall one come so close - yet it seemed he did not pay any attention to them.
Mirtvil decides to check that out - perhaps the Beast is dead - but he finds him alive. Their last meeting was not forgotten, and Mirtvil wanted to kill the Beast, but the Beast didn't really seem to care. So Mirtvil decides to help him - and it turns out that the Beast rejects any help - but in the end it turns that Mirtvil is more stubborn than the Beast - but that comes clear later.
When the tribe of the Swamp learns that the Beast is alive, they decide he must die. Mirtvil should also obey that rule, but he doesn't - he helps the Beast, no matter how far the Beast resists. The beast eventually stops resisting and allows Mirtvil to do whatever he wants, and month later, the Beast is flying again.
But then the tribe discovers that, so both the Beast and Mirtvil are caught, tied and dragged in the settlement, where they sit in a big, empty house, waiting for the tribe to decide what to do - but before they made a decision, it happens that neighbor tribes attack them, and Swamp is loosing the battle. In the settlement, people are running from one side to the other, some pass even by Mirtvil and the Beast. Mirtvil then manages to persuade someone to set them free, and so the Beast has a chance to show that he changed - at least when it comes to hunting and killing people from the tribe of the Swamp.

The other project, Dragonworld/dgn.sl doesn't have a plot set yet, but it's going to be a massive thing. So far, I'm still gathering ideas for the storyline. For this one, I'm gathering ideas for more than five months already.

Beta-reader (or 'beta') is a person who reads writing (mostly stories) which has not been published yet, and provides feedback to the author about possible upgrades/fixes for the story, warns about mistakes and holes, does not sell it further or submit it to thepiratebay.org or similar sites and so forth...

Okay this is my new longest post here - 908 words excluding this side note

<.sup>*text*<./sup>-->*text* or <.sub>*text*<./sub>-->*text* <-- HTML code (without full stops ('.'))

About similarity of those two plots, TheBeastkeeper/TBK and HTTYD - imagine me. 2nd of april, movie is released, I go and watch it with some friends, after chat I go home, I come home and start thinking about the movie... after 15 minutes of rolling it in my mind and discover how things went... , isn't it?
However, this whole thing is not based on HTTYD. Not at all. If I'd explain whole development of TBK, how plot was evolving and things like that, you would see that original plot, that I was using in TBK in early beginnings was very different than the one I'm using now, and in some ways I just feel bad for abandoning it - but, that plot didn't have any future. But I liked the Beast in that very first version, especially his behaviour... I might use that in some other writing project.

About: "And I would love to read it when it;s on sale =3" -- I take that as very big compliment, thanks!MN

No, no, the Beast was meant as serpent at first, just a giant snake.
Now, his codex (info about my writing project or its part) is very similar to general codex of dragons used in dgn.sl. Mind reading skill, appearance is almost the same - though dragons have more spikes on their back... Only difference is between the beast and dragon is that the Beast can live in water, but cannot breathe fire.

And very smart to abandon things that you don't like from projects and reuse it in other and better suited ones..
--Well, thanks. Things I abandon usually become kernels of a new project (or part of a new project), so they are not put in a new project and modified for that, but a project is modified so it goes along with that bit. Usually that happens in early stages, when project is still in 'gathering-ideas-for-in-story-events' stage. Like Dragonworld/dgn.sl.

How you will know if its selled?
Well. First, it's not necessary publishers will like it, so it might never come out. If it's published, I'm updating my FB status in the very same moment, if I'll be still here it'll come as Journal on Deviantart. No matter what happens, I'll go trough my Skype and MSN contacts and spread the news - I mentioned I can be snouty before.. Though, if it's published it will be Slovenia first, UK/USA second. Other countries - will have to provide translator, I'm not doing it on my own. I speak and write Slovenian and English only.
Now, if it's not published... then it will appear on here, on thepiratebay.org with full right to share for free, if I find anyone making cash from it *beheaded*, if I find it in some Appstore or iTunes (by Apple), Steve Jobs will be sharing his wealth with me...
If it's not finished... Didn't think about that.

Ahh okay, giant serpentines are cool too =3 but my problem is that I suck at drawing them xD

Sounds interesting, he sure got some cool skills but how can he defend himself if he was a serpent? And he can't breathe fire?

Ahh sounds very very interesting.. maybe I should think about that wen I start projects too once.. btw, I'm already busy with a story but in my mother language (dutch) first.. if my best friend likes it, then Ill translate it to english and put here

Ah okay! So when it's selled, Ill buy the english version, because I can't understand slovenian, but that means that I must import it I think.. Since I live in netherlands.. (but I want understand many languages)

Well, how could he defend himself if he was serpent? Well, if he was serpent, he would be a fast one and his snout would be slightly bigger, so he could eat a human like you eat candy. I think that's good way to defend yourself. Though, he's not a serpent and now he has other ways to defend himself.
And he can't breathe fire.

And what your story about?

Gamelady12 In reply to xTernal7 [2010-06-25 10:35:51 +0000 UTC]

Interesting.. and if I meet this kind of serpents once (if they were real then), I would sit down and waiting to be eaten as candy, there's no escape with his speed xD

Hmm, about a dragoness that was lost in an unknown world.. I write my stories always down without thinking about.. then when it's done, I change things.. then Ill translate to english and put it up and finally, I draw a comic about it.

Thanx!

Aww, yes, I saw the drawing and I was thinking, Poor dragon.. I believe too that George was mean and dragon was good! Dragons are intelligent creatures that wouldn't harm a human normally.. in my beliefs then..

Umm, there won't happen bad things tot that dragoness, she will be caught by other dragons in that world (yes it's a world without humans) but later, she never want to leave that unknown paradise.

Okay, that sounds interesting, a world without Homo Sappiens diesease...

Why Đragons Aren't Evil or: Are Đragons Intelligent? -> [link] <- This one fits great in this comment at this moment, I have a feeling.

Okay, legend about saint George (de Moron)and the EvilDragon: [link]
The Legend, paragraph 2. Okay, 2 sheep/children per day. Citizens were feeding the dragon. Dragon did nothing wrong. Also whole legend indicates that people (as vegetarians nowdays) didn't know default rules of nature. Killing for living is essential part of life of species, placed on the end of food chain.
The Legend, paragraph 5. Okay, saint George was bastard. Deal about being baptized so stinks.

And I have a feeling that Church has made a really bad bad copy of greek mythology with this one... Someone just replaced a serpent with a dragon. And set the happening somewhere else.

Thanks!

Killing an animal?
Okay, in general I agree with that paragraph, but I'd like to add two things.

1. Animals aren't the only beings than can be killed. If we take a look at biology, there are 3 more kingdoms of life. If we look from some other point, killing an animal is more humane than killing a plant: Animal can escape, plant cannot.
2. Okay, I disagree with this sentence when we come to insects like flies, mosquitos - and some other annoying animals with wings, a.k.a wasps. Flies and wasps have one thing in common - they're acting like Croatians. You're having lunch, one wasp comes - and next thing that'll happen unless you kill it is that more wasps will come, occupying your territory on the dish, and when you'll try to eat normally... sooner or later, you get stung.
That lead us back to the dragons, aren't they the same?
The answer is clear - no, they aren't. Dragons are on this world much longer than humans - even if created by imagination. That means - if dragons are on this world longer than human kind... who is an occupator in that case?

3. I never call dragon an animal, but a being rather than that. Animal can be used as an insult, at least in some languages. And 'creature' is slightly negative synonym for being, it seems to me.
(from category: my vocabulary)

Bad copies of things... In Slovenia, we had a bad copy of Greece in May this year... (demonstrations + students + alcohol + stuff to throw = parliament with broken windows) And I've missed it... *sigh*

And yes, Church should be a little more original with its "own" legends.

Interesting...

About 1. I agree sligtly, but animals got minds, feelings and memories, plants not, they only grow and produce things. So killing plants is slightly more humane, I find.
About 2. Yes, wasps and that kind of insects can be annoying, but I believe they're same as normal animals, even they're way smaller.

And I agree that dragons aren't same like insects.. good reason too!

About 3. Hmm, I sometimes call dragon an animal but I always call them Dragons or the name of the specific Dragon species.. (if you look trough DA, there are hundreds of different dragon species, made by creative people, fun to look at them! I made at least 5 species too, maybe more)

Aww.. sounds not good! Broken windows, alcohol and that stuff??

I agree, I make my own legends too, that isn't hard to create.. only read other legends then original ideas pops in your head..

I know of many species, I saw them.
I have two species so far, one-horned and two-horned - first have one horn on head, second two. Both are turned back - like at the Beast and the red dragon on that image I posted link before. This is the case of two-horned hatchling: [link] Both types have spikes on their back, and come in quite a lot of colors. Okay, only colors that are in my database are blue, green, red, yellow, gold - but in the end, there is going to be bigger choice of color. Also, difference between one- and two-horned is that one-horned dragons are more intelligent than two-horned, while two-horned are more wild. Intelligent, they are, but less than northern kin. Yes, one-horned are north, two-horned are in the south of Dragonworld. Okay, the Beast could be called third species. If he was dragon, but he's not. Though I'm increasingly thinking of making him my third dragon species. But the only problem that appears there is that if I make him a dragon, he will have a name. Now he's just Beast.

About - sounds not good. I got away from the place of happening an hour before it began. First, that were peaceful demonstrations. Then, people attacked government building... Some came with digging tools, digging out that granite blocks out of square, they were throwing eggs ect. When I came in the library (I had to wait a bit for next bus), first I checked some torrent site for some news and jokes - and see that they almost destroyed parliament. I go on facebook, and - aw, all sorts of rumors. Facebook chat - did you hear that they crashed parliament? Crisis.
But it was a day off, we didn't have to go to school. We who joined those demonstrations. And no, I and those I was with didn't drink alcohol, but ran away as fast as we could. We preferred computer over demonstrations. But if we knew what'll happen... We would be there. Me drinking alcohol is a miracle - Legolas is my kin - but me throwing something in the buildings of our lousy government which gives 300M euros to Greece and our sea to Croatia... politics = shit, if you ask me.

Let's move to more pleasant thing: About-legends.
Difficulty of creation - it really depends on the case. Sometimes, it's easy and sometimes it's hard.
I've made one for theBeastkeeper project and I'm making some for Dragonworld. So far I've made base for 'why the world is Dragonworld' - Because, before people came, this was the land where dragons ruled. Then the people came, settled there. Dragon War, legend number II: People have never liked dragons, and so dragons never liked people, and that was since the first day human, elven and dwarven kind lay a foot in the dragonworld. Of course Elves and Dwarves didn't have much problems with dragons, for Elves lived amongst trees, and Dwarves mostly underground. One day, they also stole the first egg from a Dragon nest, and next day another. Of course this thefts didn't go unnoticed. Dragons noticed, and they started to attack and loot human settlements, whether was it city or village - it didn't matter. For dragons, attacking human settlements and looting was only solace for them, yet a bad one. Gold and jewelery meant nothing to dragons, only thing they cared about were their eggs. When Elves and Dwarves learned about this (there I must say that they knew only that dragons are attacking human settlements, but they knew naught about sins of mankind), they did nothing. Elves thought that Human and Dragon could stop this themselves while Dwarves didn't care at all. When Elves saw that this is going nowhere, they suggested negotiation to king of Humans. There was one try of negotiation, but it failed. Elves, however, were not present on that negotiation, so they never learned the truth about conflict between people and Dragons. When attacks of dragons were getting stronger and stronger, dragons attacked elves once - of course they've mistaken their settlement for human village. Elves didn't even think about negotiations this time, they fully engaged war, joining the humans. Dwarven didn't join untill a downed dragon, shot down by a human hand, didn't burn dwarven city in abyss, which was located on the edge of the mountains. Dwarves engaged only then.
Human, Dwarves and Elves won, pushing dragons to the Dragon Mountains, north of Vilién, and to the far south. Since then, dragons existed only there, and in the tales of old men.

Codex which contains all legends, preferences, informations about characters, characters' past, locations, object and past for project Dragonworld is still growing.

About the species, pretty interesting to read about.. I didn't know that dragons also has different colours in your stories.. And the differences of the one and two horned dragons are very interesting to read about! If it's sure that you make a third species, tell me more about them.. and I would love to hear more of the other species..
I've created various numbers of species, but they're all (with exceptions) related to one of the four elements, Fire, Earth, Water and Air.. but I also have Rainbow, Cosmic, Space and Time dragons.. who appears as the wiser and stronger dragons in my stories in late chapters.. (Cosmic Dragon King here [link] )

Wow that sounds really bad.. that happening to that Parliament building..

That's also a very interesting story! You're very good at writing! I'm feeling sorry for the dragons, and it sounds like it was a real happening in the past. I would love to hear more about it.. Are the dragons going to take revenge, to take back what had belonged to them once? That are the questions that popped in my mind..

This is so inspiring for me.. it also gives me ideas for my stories of comics..

Btw: That part of Humans and Dragons are in war and Dragons fled from the human world, that does remind me of the story of a dragon game I've for my DS.. But the story there is way more different but it's similar..

xTernal7 In reply to Gamelady12 [2010-06-26 17:06:20 +0000 UTC]

Well I already see one difference between you and me - I don't support elements, nor my dragons are related to either of them. Reason for that might be that I don't always like alternatives to what I know (examples: global warming, I believe it's over-rated, vegetarianism - don't like that either and so forth).
But yes, how would world like if everyone had same interpretations. Boooring, that's how, and that's why different is good.

About - my kinds of dragons, adding something to previous post, they can all breathe fire, they all have excellent heat resistance, they have good cold resistance (especially northern, one-horned), natural resistance (you can't really harm them with bow and arrows, and scales are strong enough to resist swords. Maybe heavy battle axes could do some damage). Their weakness, however, is magic and spirit: with magic, you can easily deal (major) spirit and magic damage to a dragon. That means dragons can be quite easily controlled by magic users. Also, dragons know no magic, despite the fact some their abilities like breathing fire, mindread and sending thoughts are considered magical.

About parliament - really, a shame someone didn't head-shotted our prime minister with block of granite...

And - thanks for compliment on the story. About that revenge I'll tell you one things: dragons will not take revenge. They faced the reality and adapted to a new life, and they're satisfied. They don't see a reason why they would take revenge. They prefer peace over war. Yet, in the times of Dalnór, the Vilién elf; Thirn, the dwarf of the Small Deep; Redin, man of the Crow Valley and Yrik, young man from the Valley of Victory (and there are some more people to be found in my project Dragonworld /dgn.sl), dragons are warring again - but this time, not by their will - Dark Lord managed to put dragons - mostly one-horned - under his command - that guy certainly knows both magic and dragons very good.

And nice to see I'm inspiration for someone.

About your Btw - Why does that 'remind me of the story of a dragon game...' ; '...story is much more different but similar...' Oh, I know, same thing is happening at TheBeastkeeper, which is similar but different as How To Train Your Dragon...

And, by the way, this one became artwork with most replies! Way! Since not so far ago, an artwork which was very bad, it was a picture, was making me shame in my statistic, with 32 comments. I deleted it recently, and my first deviantID was for short time deviation with most comments... but I'm glad it has changed.

Gamelady12 In reply to xTernal7 [2010-06-26 18:42:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes.. I saw the difference too, but they're always the cause of interesting discussions, chats etc. And I agree that the world would be boring without differences...
In the past, I always drew elementless dragons that only could breathe fire.. Now I like elements but I still create elementless dragons that only could breathe fire.. It reminds me of the dragon that was the cause for my love for dragons, especially Eastern Dragons (do you like those kind of dragons too?) I love the long and unusual names they give to dragons..

Interesting.. this is completely different then I was used to dragons, in W.o.W they're the masters of magic but normal weapons would deal major damage! Interesting to see the opposite of this game fact! And I see now that dragons in your story don't have magic, except for the magic-like spells you mentioned. This slightly reminds me to my own character, a dragon, canine and feline mix.. She can use magic but she prefers melee and dark breath (wich is similar to the fire breath of your dragon species)

About parliament.. yes.. maybe a shame but you would get in trouble if you did that xD

Peaceful dragons? That sounds more awesome than revenge.. In many stories, dragons are like humans, same emotions, feelings and the itch to take revenge for something bad. (Think about the earlier mentioned Malygos, I found out why he turned evil, it was revenge for his murdered first and second wife) And it sounds bad that those humans would hold dragon under their control.. poor dragons.. I hope they will survive the war and problems in the story, I want read that one too if it's on sale!

Heheh, I find inspiration in everything that had beautiful plots or stories.. or beautiful pictures.. By the way (again) where do you find your inspiration?

Heheh indeed, I can guess, the artwork with most and dont forget, long replies! Wow.. sounds bad and many! Artwork with most comments of whole DA?

Btw, (agaaaain) I think I'm going to watch you.. you really got interesting plots and artworks!

Estern dragons - no I don't like them, if I'm honest. But I like eastern people, China, Japan... as far as I heard, dragons of the east are rarely evil, but rather than that, they are wise. (wikipedia said so about half a year ago) That's only thing I like about them.

Though, I liked Fuchur (Never Ending Story, in English also known as -omg, translation fail- Falkor)...
And Never Ending Story: the movie is such a fail...

Well, if you say so. Though, WoW-related talk we had ... it seems ages ago now ... so inspired me for making some changes to output.
Dark Leader enslaved dragons, and then he assigned them to other highlords, but he kept one/a few. His personal dragon was one which has lost everything - story about that still must be made. It could not be dragon war, for dragons live 700-1000 years, and dragon war was happening more than 1000 years prior to events in project Dragonworld. His acting inspired by what you told me about Malygos, and my theory about him I built upon what you've provided me: he will actually love Dark Lord, when other dragons will be hiding their hate, he will also love to cause deeds of evil, when other dragons will do that only because they were forced into doing that.

And that one is going to take long before it'll be on sale. This one also holds much more chances of total failure, for this project is - as I mentioned, vast one and I don't know if I will be able to handle it.

No, it's not artwork with most comments on dA - most commented artworks have 10, 20 and more pages of comments... But, out of deviations I've submitted, this is the one with most comments.

And that's exactly what I don't like about them. (save for wisdom, that's great)

Movie FAILS more than Eragon... Both Never Ending Story and Eragon sooooo need to be remade. Never Ending Story - ending gave me a head-ache. Both movies ruin the book. And only moment when Atreju looked somewhat close to what was he in the book was when he was in the swamp, covered in mud head to toe. Aw.

I'm not going to give out names, reason is simple: I still need to come up with them (names). However, the Dragon that Dalnor met is so far going to be Night, and I'm thinking of naming Redin's dragon Warrior. But, no ideas yet for Dark Leader's dragon.

And no, I usually don't take a look at the comments, though I noticed my behaviour here has changed recently. Since I've learned about groups and this deviation [link] my being here on deviantart came to a new era.

Well, START DRAWING THEN! xD That's the best way to reach 'The Key of Awesome'.
I must say that nor you are me are near awesome. If I estimate myself, I'd put myself in class 'apprentice', since I'm not absolute beginner. If you take a look at my early art, drawn art, you find that quality rose significantly in the last year (or I have a feeling, fact is that last year I wasn't able to draw a dragon) - though humans and human-alike beings and creatures are still on a low level.

And I see I'm getting addicted to deviantART like I got addicted to Cronicles of Ancient Darkness official forum... (Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, also known as 'CoAD', that's a good read. I suggest reading this one. It's not about dragons, though. Dragons don't exist there.)

I agree, movies fails sometimes but I still like them.. I love movies that aren't based on things more! =3
I will never forget Dragonball, the best movie/series that were based on books/comics!

Ahh okay =3 I got some suggestions if you like, if you have in your story a darkened or black dragon.. maybe a good name is Umbra? Japanese for Darkness

I see, but yes.. you're right that drawing many can help.. I draw at least 5 drawings each day.. but veeery few of them would be uploaded. Because I don't like all =3 Since I'm feeling bad this times.. I draw less then normal, wich is a horrible feeling (drawing addict here)

Ahh yes... I'm already addicted to it, I check it every morning before school to empty my postbox.. =3 I'm never on fora.. O.o

I'm not really a fan of animal/dragon mixes. I also don't really like dragons with fur, they're not true dragons to me... (but there are few of that kind in my favourites nevertheless).
In Eragon, Saphira has feathery wings, and that is like - EPIC FAIL omg

Though, How To Train Your Dragon is epic win, but it's said it's very different from the book.
I WANT THE BOOK NOW. Preferably English.
...
The worst thing about that is that I know this book is available in some libraries in Slovenia because I have a friend who have read it but... when I go to COBISS (you search for books in all libraries that are in that system) it gives me no results. Damn. :thepiratebaypls: I'll try to borrow it on biggest free on-line library...

Dragonball - do you mean that cartoon where that guy is flying on that cloud and has a rod that can stretch to infinity?

@Suggestions - I think it won't do the trick, for this name doesn't seem to fit in Đragonworld. Thanks for suggestion, still.

Okay, okay, 5 drawings a day. For early stages of improvements, that's good, but that can't continue till forever. I suggest you start to turn down your number of drawings per day -but slowly- and really dedicate to one drawing rather than drawing more. This is good for detailing skill.
Though, second thought, more drawings per day, with less details, results in basic shape skill being upgraded quicker - but if you focus on detail - and I mean tiny detail, basic shape will also improve - now question, do I complicate things too much at this point?
When I was 5 years old... oh crisis, went trough old tomes with drawings. Lost of power poles, cars, roads, traffic signs, ski-lifts, various plans... crisis ... I might have drawn 5 drawings per day if I was in right mood, but... dedication? Not really.
Now each of my drawings takes much more time, up to 6 hours and more. Some people hereon spend up to 80 hours and more on their work (photoshop freaks, usually) (And better noone call me photoshop freak. That is ultimate insult to me and -more than that- to the software I use (i.e. Gimp))

Ahh yes, sometimes getting a book from library is hard.. I want read Twilight, I looked past year for it.. now I finally could reserve it..

A boy on cloud who would turn in a hero that must protect the world.. even for aliens (Mah fave enemy is the Alien Lord Frieza) There's a wise dragon god inside it who fulfill wishes.. EVERY wishe except for some.. (I laughed lot at the scene that someone had wished for an underpant.. the look of draggie was priceless!)

Ahh okay.. maybe english name combinations of two words? (Seashimmer, Sundancer etc.) or normal words wich fits the personality?

Thanks for the tips! But those 5 drawings are full shaded and detailed drawings (I don't take much time for it, fast artist here) But most of them aren't good enough in my eyes... and I'm also busy with a script for a comic.. fully detailed comic..
