She stood among the slain, their blood already staining the golden metal of her weapons and armor as well as her mind. Forever, these images would last in her head as she looked all around her. The brief flashes of memory that came into her vision made her pity the fallen for a moment. How they must have felt in those brief instances of vigor and reckless abandon charging headlong into the jaws of their own doom. But this was her destiny.
