Jayce is very by-the-book. He doesn't like improvising and doesn't like hasty decisions, preferring to have all the facts in front of him and time to plan a course of action. He panics in the face of on-the-spot thinking, getting easily flustered and fidgety. He doesn't like stepping out of his comfort zone at all, and at the very least, not without plenty of time to prepare.

He doesn't have much of a life outside education, preferring studies over social interactions and sports. He loves reading and stargazing, though the latter is a hobby he doesn't let just anyone know about. The closer one gets to him, the more it's obvious he's an awkward dweeb who's uncomfortable with a lot of things but will try his best with enough motivation. He doesn't half-ass things at all, doesn't know how, and everything he does is done to the best of his abilities. He's also surprisingly grumpy at times, mostly when he's just woken up.

※ Jayce grew up privileged, but wasn't allowed to laze around in it.
※ His parents valued academical success, and so he grew up to be studious and diligent, but rather lacking socially.
※ Took an interest in space as a child and got his first telescope as a reward for high scores.
※ Recently moved to Goldenrod City for his father's business, enrolling into Ajisai Academy.
His mother is a Venomoth from Kalos. His Galvantula father was from Unova but moved to Kalos as a child. They met and lived in Saffron City for a few years before moving to Ecruteak City, Johto. His father worked as a researcher and intended to study Ghost-type Pokemon. His mother was a human doctor. They had Jayce once they had enough money to support him and then some, and he grew up in a mid-to-high wealth environment.

His parents both valued academical success, though neither pushed him to follow in either of their footsteps, allowing him the freedom to choose. Jayce took the challenge and did his absolute best to be the first in all of his classes. As a result, he ended up fairly lonely with only one or two he would call 'friends'. He spent most of his time alone regardless, choosing to study instead of hang out with others.

He took an interest in space when he was around 10 years old, and his parents bought him his first telescope as a reward for scoring the highest in his entire year. His interest only grew since, spending many nights using his books and telescopes to track the movement of the stars. Socially, he remained shy and withdrawn, though he learned to cover it up with a cool and respectful personality.

Recently, his father completed his research in Ecruteak City, and his family decided to move to Goldenrod City, in the hopes of better job opportunities for his mother. For Jayce, it was another chance for him to grow out of his little shell, though whether he realized the opportunity was there for him to take was another matter entirely...

Trivia:⦔ The scales of his wings are poisonous if ingested, though not fatally so. At most they just give a nasty case of food poisoning, unless one is allergic. Jayce can release them at will, though once every few months they start shedding off on their own to allow new ones to grow. During this time, his wings appear duller than usual. Brushing his wings helps them shed faster, but he usually lets them shed at their own pace since he can't reach and he doesn't like people touching his wings.
⦔ He loves wearing baggy clothes at home. Like, so big and puffy he's drowning in it, sort of baggy. He even has 'formal' house clothes for when friends visit though. He finds it embarrassing to wear his usual home attire in front of friends...
⦔ He's the most aggressive little spoon you can imagine. He will growl and threaten to rip your arm off if you try to let go of him.
⦔ He hates the cold but he loves winter because he loves being warm when it's cold.
⦔ He's extremely passionate about space. If you ask him about it, he will ramble. Badly. And then get extremely flustered by his rambling. He knows a lot about the stars, both scientifically and mythology-wise.
⦔ He doesn't really know what he wants to do when he grows up. Though he loves astrology, it's really the sort of thing he has no interest in pursuing as a career.

Jayce frowns at the thought, following the pendulum for a moment longer before his gaze slides over to the window, not really seeing what lies past the polished glass before he finally returns to the textbook in his lap. World History is dull. He doesn't like that he thinks that of the subject, but it is. It's hard to read, his focus drifting every so often, and he eventually gives up with a sigh, marking the page and closing it in favour of rubbing the bridge of his nose. There are indentations there, from the constant presence of his glasses, and he presses against them with thumb and forefinger as "motives" and "treaties" and dates long past bounce around in his skull.

Just a short break would be fine, right? Yeah...
