Description

A new reference sheet for a good lad to celebrate the upcoming start to my fan fiction, Wings of Fire: Revenant.

As a side note, my design for Peacemaker is different from my design for Darkstalker In Darkness of Dragons Tui describes baby Peacemaker as not looking like Darkstalker, because of his round face and wide set eyes. So I gave Peacemaker a rounded jawline, more rounded ears, and big, round eyes that are further apart than Darkstalker's narrow, closer together eyes. The book also describes a 'shimmer' going across Darkstalker's scales during the transformation, which I took to mean he changed color slightly. So Darkstalker to me is more of a gray/blue/black and Peacemaker is just black with a slight bluish tinge. Obviously, Darkstalker also has black scleras from his IceWing side, which Peacemaker does not have. Besides that, Peacemaker does have some common features from his previous life, such as his long, narrow face and the shape of his face scales. Also, I know Tui reportedly said Peacemaker could change the color of his underwing scales, but that was well after the fact and I already had Peacemaker fully designed by that point and didn't want to change him. So I got around that by just saying his rainbow scales can appear different colors depending on how to light hits them.

Breed: NightWing x RainWing hybrid
Sex: Male
Age: Six years old (around 16 in human years)
Build: Slimmer and less bulky than a typical NightWing, due to his RainWing blood
Distinct Features: Long narrow face, long semi-prehensile tail usually held in a loose curl, long spines, and extra spines in place of Rainwing ruff.
Accessories: Red and white beaded necklace with a metal strawberry pendant, which was given to him as a gift by Truthseeker. He doesn't get this until later in the story.
Mother: Hope (Foeslayer)
Romantic Interest: Truthseeker (my fan interpretation of Clearsight reincarnated, as well as the blacksmith from Moon's vision)
Mentor: Orchid
Clawmate: Cliff
Close Friends: Moonwatcher, Kinkajou, Orchid, Cliff, Truthseeker, and Auklet.
Residence: The NightWing village in the Rainforest Kingdom. Later Jade Mountain Academy.
Occupation: Apprentice gardener, specializing in growing important medicinal herbs, and fruits and vegetables not native to the rainforest.
Hobbies: Singing, baking, and making jam.
Personality: Peacemaker is what I would best describe as Darkstalker Lite (now with 75% less murder). He’s intelligent and thoughtful, always the first to come up with creative solutions to problems and not afraid of being called crazy while trying to carry them out. He’s passionate about his work with plants, sometimes to a worrying extent, but is very talented at what he does. He’s witty and often sarcastic, but doesn’t mean any harm and instead uses humor to break down other dragons’ boundaries. He’s generally a very amicable dragon, who’s not easily jaded and is difficult to offend. He’s observant, with the ability to read others well, and often uses this to his advantage. He can be slightly manipulative, though not with malicious intent, just an ability to say and do the right things to get what he wants. Half the time he may not even be fully cognizant of it. He’s incredibly faithful to his friends and family, and values their love and appreciation more than most things in his life. He doesn’t much care what random dragons have to say about him, but would be devastated if someone he loves disapproved of or betrayed him. His mother and Moon have inadvertently been a bit dismissive of his feelings about certain things, and this has caused him to keep parts of himself close a secret. He doesn’t share his mysterious dreams, and rarely speaks of his desire to have NightWing powers or animus magic. This has created a bit of an unhealthy cycle in his head of desire, frustration, and then finally just devaluing his own feelings and tossing them aside. This has obviously caused him to develop some repressed emotions that he’s not dealing with in a healthy way (or dealing with at all, to be honest). Being born without any natural tribal abilities (he can’t breathe fire, shoot venom, or camouflage) has made insecure about his talents and his legacy. He has an ambitious streak born from his desire to make his life meaningful and do something he feels will be worthwhile.

Random Facts
Cannot breathe fire or shoot venom.
Has a semi-prehensile tail.
Rainbow scales cannot change colors, but may appear to be different colors depending on the way the light hits them.
Has a preference for fruit over meat, and sticks to a mostly vegetarian diet as a result.
Enjoys basking in the sun.
Suffers from chronic nightmares that he can never remember when he wakes up. This caused the excessive sleepiness he experienced as a small dragonet, but now that he's older he's mostly resigned himself to never getting enough sleep.
Also suffers from claustrophobia, and doesn't like to spend time in any cramped, enclosed space. He can handle caves so long as they're either large and well-lit, or open to the sky.
