Description I've been unhappy with Farcry's old design for awhile, since I thought he looked too much like some of my other blue-toned characters. So I decided to go with a more turquoise-ish look, and I like this design a lot better. Not to mention I got to use xTheDragonRebornx 's amazing new Rainwing template.

Character Overview

Name: Farcry

Sex: Male

Species: Dragon

Breed: Rainwing

Age: 5

Adoptive Father: Havoc

Adoptive Mother: Fortuneteller

Biological Parents: As with all Rainwings, the identity of his biological parents is unknown.

Scars: One deep, jagged scar that cuts across the tip of his muzzle. The scar is the result of a backdoor surgery to remove the distinct horn from the tip of his nose when he was a tiny dragonet. The horns along his jaw were also removed, but the more malleable skin was able to be properly sown up, so it didn't leave a noticeable mark. His horns were also bound to make them grow straight so that they would appear more like Nightwing horns.  His frill is very tattered, with chunks missing from it, both from injury and lack of blood flow.

Accessories: While disguised as a Nightwing his ruff his folded against his horns and bound with white bandages. This is extremely uncomfortable for Farcry, and he will look for any excuse to take them off.

Abilities: Like all Rainwings, he can shoot a deadly venom from his fangs, though he only gained this ability after coming to the Rainforest during the Nightwing Exodus and being exposed to sunlight for the first time. He should be able to change the color of his scales, but years of abuse have all but snuffed out this inbred talent. Even if it makes a concentrated effort to change his scales he can't seem to, and just the effort alone nearly causes him to go into a panic attack after years of being punished for it.

Personality: Farcry is a friendly people pleaser who often uses enthusiasm to cover up his fears and insecurities, and tries to remain optimistic no matter the circumstances. He's kind, patient, loving, and loyal to a fault. He can be timid and a bit shy, and doesn't have much by the way of self confidence, though you'd never know that from his attitude. He wants more than anything to please his parents, despite the horrific abuse he has suffered because of them. He tends to try and see the best in everyone, and his forgiving nature can make him easy to manipulate. He rarely complains about anything, and is very easy to please. He makes friends quickly and can get along with just about anyone because of his accommodating and undemanding personality.

History: Fortuneteller the Nightwing wanted nothing more than to be a mother. Years passed and many eggs were lain, but most never hatched, and the few that did died shortly thereafter. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence on the Nightwings’ barren volcanic island. Many dragonets died within days of hatching. Many more perished in their shells. But knowing this did nothing to numb the pain she felt year after year. She was getting older, her egg-bearing days trickling away little by little. She was desperate. The blow that put her over the edge took place the night her latest egg, very likely her last, went silent just days before it was meant to hatch. Dead, like all the others. Fortuneteller became crazed with desperation. She could not accept that her fate was to never be a mother, never to raise her own dragonets and watch them grow up. She was going to make it happen, whatever she had to do. So that night she snuck through the tunnel into to the rainforest, and stole an egg from one of the Rainwing hatcheries. She dyed the white surface with ink and put it in place of her perished egg, never telling her mate what she had done. Soon after, the tiny dragonet hatched, lively, bright-eyed, and positively dancing with bright colors. Fortuneteller’s mate, an enormous, stern Nightwing named Havoc, was absolutely furious. He berated her for lying to him, and insisted they kill the dragonet and hide the body before anyone could see it. Fortuneteller begged and pleaded with her mate, saying that no one had to know what she had done, and that they could pass the hatchling off as a Nightwing. The tiny dragonet had since changed his scales to a dark blue-green to mimic his “parents” and indeed could have been mistaken for a Nightwing at first glance. Much bickering followed, and Havoc eventually relented. He was the one who chose the name Farcry for the dragonet, because he was a far cry from a real Nightwing. The two would-be parents would go on to commit horrendous acts of cruelty in an attempt to conceal the dragonet’s true identity. A few days after his birth they stole a sleeping tonic from Mastermind’s lab and put the dragonet in a deep slumber while they cut the distinct horns from his nose and the edges of his jaw. They also bound the horns on his head so that they would grow straight, instead of twisted. They went on to bind his ruff to his horns with bandages in order to conceal it, which became very uncomfortable for Farcry over time. As he grew, the young Rainwing suffered unimaginable abuse at the claws of his adoptive father. Havoc resented Farcry for not being his real son and for not being a real Nightwing. If the dragonet allowed even a single scale to change color, Havoc would strike him with his claws or heavy, spiked tail, sending the tiny Rainwing reeling. In his early days, Farcry was made to believe he had been born with some kind of deformity or perhaps even a curse which made him different from other Nightwings. Only when he was sent on a school trip to observe a Rainwing prisoner did he learn the truth. He confronted his parents, and his father criticized him for being stupid enough to ever believe he was a real Nightwing. He went on to insist that Farcry should be grateful, because if they hadn’t taken him, he would be just as stupid and useless as every other Rainwing. Fortuneteller stood aside during all the emotional and physical abuse her son suffered. She had wanted to be a mother for so long, but her love was a selfish one, a drive to fulfill her own wants and desires at the cost of her son’s happiness and well-being. She had condemned him to life on the hellish island simply so she could be a mother, and now she stood aside as her mate beat him both with his claws and with his scathing words. Then came the time of the Nightwing Exodus. Farcry went to the Rainforest with his parents, in awe of everything around him. His instincts pulled him towards the sun, the fresh fruit, and the beautiful scenery, but his mother pulled him back. Here, in this wonderful place, surrounded by his own kind, she feared she would lose him. So she kept him close, denying him food rather than letting him eat the fruit they were offered, shading him from the sun, and not allowing him to interact with the other Rainwings.  It was only when the curious behavior of the skinny Nightwing dragonet with the bound horns attracted the attention of a certain Rainwing queen that Farcry’s life truly began to change for the better.

Uh...thanks for point that out? I've learned the hard way that if you don't make note of everything the people you commission will not draw it, even if it's plainly visible.

I didn't get mad, I just pointed out that the comment didn't make much sense to me and explained why. When you work hard on a design it can be disheartening when someone comments and you get excited only to find they're just making a joke about it.
