NOTE ON MARKINGS: The marking on his chest is went to vaguely resemble the V-shape of a Victorian vest or tailcoat and curves slightly over his shoulders on either side. I'm still not confident with how I drew it on the chibi, since I'm not used to drawing canines from the front, so I thought I should clarify.

Well, I actually went through with it. I made my fursona a vampire I don’t know why I didn’t think about this sooner, since my username is in fact VexVamp. I guess I was hesitant because I was worried people would call me stupid or cliché. But I’ve been watching more stuff with vampire characters lately and it just reminded me of how much I love and connect with them. So I just said ‘Screw it, I’m going to do what makes me happy. If people don’t like it, they can kindly GTFO’. Funnily enough, he sort of looks like I meant for him to be a vampire from the start. His colors really work with the red eyes.

Anyway, I thought it was time for Vex to have a new reference sheet. His colors and markings haven’t really changed, and I’m really glad to have found a design I’m happy with. I do feel like my drawing style has improved, especially when compared to the original ref. I still need to make a ref for his accessories, but I just got tired of working on it

Name: Vex

Species: Wolfdog (gray wolf x Siberian husky)

Supernatural Type: Vampire

Gender: Male

Age: Immortal (physically a young adult)

Height: 27 inches at the shoulder

Build: Thin and long-legged, slightly lanky.

Distinct Features: Overhanging hair tuft (NOT optional), large wolf-like paws, tall and pointy ears (like a husky), and a fluffy tail that usually curls over his back when he is alert, excited, angry, or happy and lays flat when he is sad, tired, or relaxed. In his vampire form he has long, sharp fangs, red eyes, and long, sharp claws which he can use to fight (similar to a cat). He also has a large, hooked dewclaw which helps him grip onto prey while hunting.

Accessories: To be added later.

Diet: Survives mostly off of blood and Dr. Pepper.

Sounds: Able to make all the traditional sounds attributed to wolves, including growls, snarls, whimpers, and howls. He doesn’t bark, but does occasionally make the ‘woo-woo’ noise that huskies do. As a vampire, he is also able to make a hissing noise like a cat.

Abilities: Can shift freely from his ‘normal’ form to his vampire form at any time. As a vampire, he has heightened senses, and great strength and speed. Able to use his sharp claws to swipe and grab prey, using techniques similar to a cat’s. His greatest weapons are by far his long, sharp canine teeth.

Weaknesses: Won’t turn to dust in the sun, but exposure to direct sunlight will burn his skin and prolonged exposure could eventually lead to death. Bright light hurts his sensitive eyes. Not harmed by garlic or crucifixes, as legends would have you believe, though any overly strong smell is likely to detour him. Could be killed by a stake to the heart, but his greatest weakness is by far taking away his supply of Dr. Pepper.

Personality

Positive Traits: Intelligent, kind, passionate, empathetic, open-minded, loyal, adaptable, observant, determined, honest, ambitious, lively, funny, straight-forward, and level-headed. He's a professional smart ass, but not at all inconsiderate or unkind.
Negative Traits: Self-conscious, petty, hypersensitive to criticism, stubborn, prideful, self-involved, pouty, unconfident, indecisive, impatient, and often anxious. He has a real tendency to hold grudges, and, despite his fierce temper, is very fearful of conflict.
