Description It's very true, this is not an opinion. You'll even find this in politics. The mindset of the founding fathers of America was to set the constitution with an ideology that everyone shares and uses, and that was reason. What they didn't know was that the people of today will refuse to reason with one another because nobody want's to sacrifice for the better good, and are more focused on emotionally appealing to society and themselves. I'm sure some of you who are not corrupted by that mindset can see exactly what I'm talking about.

I totally agree. While I don't think we should be emotionless robots, basing your entire agrument purely off of your emotions is not only illogical but just plain stupid.

Great stamp though! Love it!

And virtue. People have taken out reason and virtue in favor of emotions.

And they have also replaced pseudointellectualism with reason.

"professing to be wise, they became fools....."

"The mindset of the founding fathers of America was to set the constitution with an ideology that everyone shares and uses, and that was reason."

And it was this same "reason" that led to slavery, women being treated as objects/baby factories, and racism and sexism.

And since the hot topic in the comments seems to be abortion and gay marriage, let me just ask;
By denying abortions, what good are we doing those women whose lives would be ruined by a baby?
By denying gay marriage, what good are we doing those gay couples who can't even visit their partner in the hospital because they're not married?

If we used reason, sex would rarely be used outside of reproductive purposes. The entire idea of sex seems barbaric anyway.
The entire idea of homosexuality (and to a large extent, heterosexuality) is based upon emotion.
Reason did not bring about xenophobia, nor womanization. those were brought about by man's corrupt nature.

Could this be one of, if not the reason, why abortion, contraception and same-sex marriage are legal?

Anyway great stamp.

They can have some emotion, but their whole argument can't be based off of it.

except people owned slaves and women were basically nothing but glorified baby factories back in those days.
i wouldn't call that "reason". in fact, the world today is actually better than what was back in the 1700s.

We've never had reason: we've only ever had emotion. We've had people owning slaves and women without rights. Quite frankly, we're better today than we were yesterday and we'll be better tomorrow--with emotion.

Besides, "more than cleverness, we need kindness."

YES!!! I hate people who use only emotions, instead of reasons and FACTS for, say, supporting gay marriage, abortion, etc. I do not care if they have those opinions. But I DO care if those opinions are based on facts and REASON, rather than purely emotional reasons, which is the equivalent of ignorance and idiocy.

...end tangent.

Reason and emotion are both required for wisdom, but I do in part agree.

The problem being that most people remove reason and act solely based on emotion.

"wants" does not require an apostrophe. It is neither a contraction, nor is it possessive.

It is very annoying.
Makes it difficult when it comes to voting because both seem
to put their pride and "team" ahead of my rights as well as everyone else rights.
There is not sense or reason.
Just, "I think this is right because I think it is and I feel it is."
Blah!
