I think so too. I don’t believe Chara is possessing Kris. If anything Chara mag be working alongside Gaster with the timeline, like when you start the game.

It was assumed they were during the introduction as there were hints in dialogue differences from the “Are we connected” to the making of the vessel, and in the end where the dialogue turns to “no one can choose who they are in this world”. A theory presented these two differences in dialogue by analysing the Japanese text. Very interesting theory.
I’m not sure if they are in the game throughout, but if they are, then they’ve got some high “access” to be a second “voice” in the start of the game.
I dunno. It’s still early to make assumptions. But it’s cool to look into

Yeah, I agree. If you ask me, the one who said "are we connected?" sounds more like Gaster; much more formal and well spoken, like in "Entry number seventeen." And the second part could have been Chara, with the change in the dialogue... But I guess we'll have to wait 'till Chapter 2 comes...
