Description
English isn't the only language on earth, and it's not the only language that music, literature, etc. appear in.A little diversity won't kill you, and there's no need to hate something just because it's not your language.

Это точно. В мире есть столько замечательных языков
But again, it's very convenient to have lingua franca, and if it turned out that this language is English... why not?

I agree! English is not always Better.
Personally, I love French, German, Russian, Lithuanian, & Spanish the Best out of the Languages I've heard. Especially French. It's such a Romantic Language....
I like a little Variety. I don't like to be subjected to ONLY English TV/Music/Ect. (Even though I can't really understand any Language except for English. I know a little tiny bit of French & I know a few words/Phrases in Spanish/German/Russian.)
I hate how some people here (in America) feel that everyone MUST learn English and Speak English all the Time. This is a Free Country & what's more, this is a Giant Melting Pot full of other Cultures. Language is a component of Culture, and to take away a Person's right to Speak their Language is wrong, because in a sense you're taking away part of that Person's identity.
I believe that people should be able to choose what Language they want to Speak. (Though, I must admit, if you live in America it would be of your Best Interest to learn at least a bit of English or Spanish, just to make communication with others a bit easier.)
Anyway, that's all I got to say for now.

That's what a lot of the Adults from previous generations say. The grew up with racism a lot more hard core than I say today. Not saying racism is totally gone because it isn't...but I hope you know what I mean.

I'm English, often I feel ashamed to speak my own language because it's used worldwide- people shouldn't feel they have to speak English. I try to learn other languages, but it's increasingly difficult because we don't get to use them in everyday life, and schools are pretty lax about teaching them....

In English: That's right. People in America does have the freedom to choose which language to learn.
In Spanish (using translator): Eso es correcto. La gente en Estados Unidos tiene la libertad de elegir el idioma para aprender.
In French (using translator): C'est exact. Les gens en Amérique ne sont libres de choisir la langue à apprendre.
In German (using translator): Das ist richtig. Die Menschen in Amerika nicht die Freiheit haben zu entscheiden, welche Sprache zu erlernen.
In Traditional Chinese (using translator): 這是正確的。人們在美國確實有自由選擇的語言學習。
In Japanese (using translator): それはそうです。アメリカの人々が学習する言語を選択する自由を持っています。
In Sweedish (using translator): Det stämmer. Människor i USA har frihet att välja vilket språk att lära sig.
In Arabic (using translator): هذا صحيح. الناس في أمريكا لديه حرية اختيار اللغة التي على التعلم.
In Hebrew (using translator): זה נכון. אנשים באמריקה יש את החופש לבחור באיזו שפה ללמוד.
In Vietamese (using translator): Đó là đúng. Người dân ở Mỹ không có sự tự do để chọn ngôn ngữ để học hỏi.
In Backwards English: .nrael ot egaugnal hcihw esoohc ot modeerf eht evah seod aciremA ni elpoeP .thgir s'tahT
In Pikachu (using translator): piii'pi chuuu. chuuuu pi pi-ka-chu Pika pika pii pikachu Ka pikachu pikapi piikachu pi pikapi. (Yeah right, such translator exists. Look it up in Google.)
And don't forget the world. Sorry for the ridiculously long comment.

That is so true! I'm studying French right now, and I will look at things that are translated from English to French and end up liking the French version better! Language diversity is a remarkable thing. I listen to my friends who say "you should just speak English!" and it makes me sad. *steps off soap box before continuing with a rant*

THANK YOU.
God, I'm sometimes ashamed to be american, man. lots of my family in Texas say that people who come to America should speak English.
Granted, it would be more convenient to them if they knew English, but hell, man it isn't required D:
I love other languages, man.

wellll man, it's good to try to learn english if you can but ha
the people they are probably (i'm assuming) complaining about are not always in a position conducive to learning it. Whereas Spanish is taught in every school and some of those who are in a more comfortable position don't even bother, even though it helps you, too!
So yes, IAWTC xD

English is used in many places, now...
Especially in America, in Hawaii, not so much, we have a lot of Japanese, though.

Concordo, o mundo é grande demais para ser descrito em apenas uma língua.
