i fished him outta the turtle "pond" in my drivewayby far one of the most awesomestest beetles i have seen in a while... at least since the hercules beetle last year...
this one wasnt nearly as big, but wow! the colors!
overcast and rainy day - small adjustments to hue/sat, bri/con , sharpen, plus a crop and frame. it sounds like a lot, but really... 5 points one way or the other... not a whole whole lot!
and for the love of all that is good in the world - FULL VIEW!!!
this makes freakin awesome wallpaper!! center - dont stretch and it gets bigger!!! wow!

oh TRUST!!!!! since spring has come i am aaaalllllll on the look-out for some keen bugs and such!! i know its still a couple months before the cool beetles come out, but i am sooo excited!!!

Welcome! Ah, my sister is going to college in Texas, but she wouldn't appreciate the bugs even if she saw them. I'll have to keep an eye out for our bugs and see if I can find any cool ones.

Hmmm rainbow scarab. It certainly is a fairly colorful bug. Yea, I figured that it would be some kind of "horned" beetle too.

nah... i stuck around long enough to watch him dry off and regain his composure and jump up and fly away! i have the shot of him jumping up. its blurry, but not so much you cant see whats going on... he didnt take off like a ladybug, you know? how they lift the "shell" and then start to fly? he jumped up into the air and then took flight... almost startled me for a second as i was in pretty close trying to photograph him
yup. fernando. i figured a guy who is willing to go out in THOSE colors HAD to have an exotic and flamboyant name! fernando was what i came up with. fernando enrique rosalez... its fun to say... rolly polly "r's"
