Description ...Just because I don't like red, she's blue. Minus the wolf. For the life of me, I cannot draw wolves or dog (not even cats). Gimme a goat or a sheep anytime, those I can do (reasonably well).

Also, I've come to realise lately that my drawing skills are rather horrid, not even mediocre... Going through a "I hate myself"-period right now, in regards to my drawing skills...

How in HELL could you hate this?? She is gorgeous! The gown looks like inspired by one of your Red Queen designs - and it dresses her perfectly! You chose a wonderful blue and GOSH how I love that embroidery at the hood andthe edges!
Aside from this, the background is done fine, all the details and the gloaming...

Glad to see something of your works again! (and btw, your new Dolldivine creations are gorgeous as well, but since I cannot comment there, I just gave all my crowns to you)

My daughter commented on the forest that it looks like an overgrown marijuana plantation...

Haven't been doing a lot of stuff on DollDivine either, too busy, still. Hopefully I can do some more gowns soon there.

Beautiful. I love the embroidery.

Also, I know how you feel. I've had a few of those times myself, where no matter what you draw it just never turns out the way you want it to.

My tiny sketch looked actually better than the finished thing...

But thanks for the encouraging words. Haven't done much any art lately, so I need to do some "practice work" to get back on the wagon, so to speak.

I know that feeling too. >_> It's really annoying. I often have that problem when I make sketches for my dressup games and then try to recreate them on the computer, but they almost never end up looking as good as the sketches.

I see.
I haven't really worked on any dressup games since Christmas, until I started working on this one game that focuses on Disney concept art. I figured that since it deals with a very popular subject I would probably get paid a nice sum for it. Apparently I assumed too much, nobody can afford to sponsor me these days, so apparently I'm stuck working for free now. =\ Yay, it's so much fun being completely broke...

I have never once in my life made money with my art.
Art is one of those very few things that other people enjoy greatly, yet at the same time creating it is considered "free" and paying an artist for creating a drawing/painting or whatever is hardly ever done. And that's because being an artist is usually not considered as any sort of "proper work"...

In our modern day and age when any "idiot" with photoshop and some computer skills can "create art", the real artists are usually lost in the shuffle. So sad.

I really hope you find some solid sponsors for your amazing art!

And there lies the "starving artist" archtype. =\ In a way, being an artist isn't proper work, but not in that it shouldn't be paid for or anything like that, but rather that it's just an extremely unpredictable area of work. Wether you make any kind of money off art or not is almost entirely based on luck, if your art is seen by the right person who can offer you a proper deal, or if you by chance become famous enough that a lot of people want to buy your art for large sums of money.

The real artists tend to get lost in between all the crappy recolours and poorly drawn anime monstrosities out there.

I hope so too, but things aren't looking very bright. =\ There aren't exactly a lot of trustworthy dressup game websites out there. A lot of the very big ones tend to either not credit the original artist (meaning you're also not allowed to have your own logo in the game and chances are they won't mention your name anywhere), or in some cases they even outright scam them by getting them to put the website's logo in the game and then never paying them for it.
