I had to do a tribute piece for Leonard, as much as for myself as for him. And I wanted it to be a little more than another portrait of Spock, of which I've done plenty. I had another idea for this that included Jim too, but when that proved to be too difficult I changed tactics and made it a Spock & Bones picture. This is literally two full size drawings that I stuck together. Hence the gray line dividing it as there was no other means of transition.

This took many days of aggravation I must say. Several times I contemplated scrapping it or cutting out parts of it. Namely that hand. And that glass! That would have been terrible though cuz most of the emotion of this piece comes from the fact that Bones is lifting a glass to Spock. So I stuck with it and this is the end result. I also tried to give Spock a little Not-Smile as a response. And no, I didnt forget about James Doohan, but for various reasons I chose to stick with Leonard & De.
