Every time I've watched Cars, I've looked at this and thought "I gotta draw that!" Well, now I have
Havent done anything Pixar related in quite some time. This went a lot faster than I expected. It wasnt easy though. There are still spots I'm not entirely happy with. The background leaves a little to be desired, detail-wise. There are a couple things on Doc that arent totally right either, but I'm ok with it overall. Lemme just say though, that trying to draw, or in this case, shade a dust cloud aint exactly a picnic.

It is time consuming because he has all that chrome. I suppose it's hard in the sense that chrome finishes are sometimes difficult to depict in pencil, and will look weird if not done just right

Mmmm...again, it's more time consuming than hard. The way I do it, as part of my process, is that I graph it out and draw what's in each square. Now, things like the Fabulous Hudson Hornet drawing I have, that was kinda difficult, cuz Doc has all that lettering, and it's in perspective and that's gotta be done just right. Ramone was another one, due to his intricate paint job.

I guess I like because Doc doesn't NEED his racing paintjob. Yeah, he's THAT awesome.
I would pay to see the look on Chick Hick's face if he didn't know who Doc was and Doc mopped the floor with him in a race. "HA HA, CHICK GOT BEAT BY SOMEBODY'S GRANDPA!!!"

I just meant it would be funny if Doc did it before anyone knew he was the Hornet, because everyone would think he was just somebody's crazy old grandpa car, and it'd be embarrassing for Chick to get beat by an old guy.

I think that's what the filmmakers were going for "Every small town needs a grumpy old guy. Plot twist, Old guy is actually a famous racer!"
