Description
This is something that I probably should have done last year, when I redid my Doc and King drawings, but at the time I felt Lightning still looked ok. Well now I changed my mind, and I wasnt totally satisfied with how my original Lightning looked so I redid it and revised it.I decided to do a take on his Radiator Springs paint job, since I rarely see him drawn that way, and it ended up being a hybrid of that and his Radiator Spring racing paint job. This is because while he has no racing stickers, he does still retain his rear spoiler and blackwall tires. This went quickly, considering that the details are minimal.

He got all his stickers removed, didn't he? Is this "rear spoiler" the flaming 96 on his sides?

Well at one point in the movie he didnt have stickers. (in actuality I just didnt feel like drawing them). The rear spoiler is the fin that is flipped up on his back end

I think this is an amazing piece of work. I absolutely love the shading on this picture and how you manage to make it expressive and yet at the same time retain its solid shape. Excellent work!

I love Lightning in the Radiator Springs paint job but I agree with you that it's not so popular among the artist who draw him.And so I love this version ^_^
