A very BASIC tutorial on how to pic colours when you draw!!
Before teaching you my ways how I shade skin, clothes or eyes, I think it´s important to develop your own sense of colours first.
Even if you know how I do it, there is no way you can achieve alike results, or results you are pleased with yourself, unless you know what colours you like!
It´s very simple and I hope it´s useful for beginner artists that struggle!
Feel free to use this palette to help you on the way.

It's a layer blending mode. In Photoshop next to the brushes or below the layers tab there's a thing that says "Normal", if you click on that you can choose "multiply", and it applys the blending mode to the layers below, or for brushes the brush stroke. Multiply will remove all the white from the color (the opposite of "screen" which removes all the black)

You're welcome! By the way, just like you use "multiply" for shading you can use "color dodge" for lighting as well as "linear dodge (add)", and you can use "overlay" to add colours (near the same saturation as 50% gray) or for shading/lighting.

a note for the comments section! if youre using paint tool sai, a better option is to use shade! shade can, despite the taboo, actually let you to use black for shading in some cases, its still best to use a colour but in a pinch you can use black, when using shade for shading you should take note that LESS IS MORE, shade is a much more vibrant and intense version of multiply, YOU DONT NEED as much you really dont! you should mess around with different shading options, maybe try a mixture of multiply and shade or something of the like to find the palette choices you like most
another tidbit that i personally use when shading, if youre shading a teal colour try going with a bright blue for sahding, it makes the colour pop and its positively gorgeous

I also watched your clipping tutorial today and learned how to clip layers! I wasn't able to figure out how to keep the layers clipped when I exported my sai image into photoshop as psd, but I'll figure that out from a friend or online!
