Description
A very BASIC tutorial on how to pic colours when you draw!!
Before teaching you my ways how I shade skin, clothes or eyes, I think it´s important to develop your own sense of colours first.
Even if you know how I do it, there is no way you can achieve alike results, or results you are pleased with yourself, unless you know what colours you like!
It´s very simple and I hope it´s useful for beginner artists that struggle!
Feel free to use this palette to help you on the way.
Credit is NOT needed but I would love to see results of it´s usuage so feel free to link it here in the comments ♥

Somehow I enjoyed coloring with much more vibrant colors while it looks like i'm coloring with either dull or pastel colors(NOT! XD), I couldn't help but to start by coloring a lineart I made:
I noticed of how much more vibrant and shiny it looks! But I may had gone wrong with the shading on the skin and not the lighting!

Thanks for the tips! I always had the feeling that Multiply really was delightfully easy when colouring but in the end something would mysteriously look off LOL

I didn't use the palette but in the YouTube video it said about dragging the colour wheel down or up when shading so if I'm shading something yellow it'll be shaded with an orange colour. This helped me so much, I've been dragging down making it dull and dark, this just made my drawings so much more colourful~
I used it on this drawing, I just love the oranges on the yellow it's so much nicer and better on the eyes will definitely be using this on my drawings from now on~
THANK YOU ;3;

Ah, thank you so much for this! ;A;
I always struggle at finding the right color for the shading. Your tip with multiply is really helpful! <3 Often I adjust the colors so they fit better but using the multiply method is saving so much time! Because then you are roughly in the right direction to the perfect shading color :3
I used the multiply method here: C: Chibi | Starrydonuts >v<

I have a question, I use a lot of dull colors, so is it okay if I edit the palette's hue and lighting in SAI for personal use?

How do you add that white contour (surrounding) line?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Yamio In reply to NisiQuamAmor [2015-03-19 21:23:35 +0000 UTC]
I CTRL click on the layer with the texts on so it becomes selected! ♥
Then I expand the selection by increasing it with the increment, until I get a size I like!
Then I make a layer beneath, and fill that layer with an outline colours ♥
