I've made a tutorial of a pixel strawberry that I created few days ago. I think it's quite easy to make and it's totally suitable for you if you just start pixelling.You can use my tutorial to practice, or create other pixel things using this technique, just please don't upload the same strawberry to DA

what program did you use? I have never heard of "soft light blending" before o.o

I used photoshop CS4, the blend mode is the one next to opacity option in the Layers tab, you can click the arrow to choose the blend modes XD
