He is such a mean looking bastard, isn't he? Never smiling, always by himself, so serious, hands behind his back when he isn't holding his little clip board. No friends or family, disliked by everyone in the game, quiet, a loner, sullen and sad looking as though he were somehow unhappy and broken. Not overly attractive, either, with a pointy nose, big forehead, high cheek bones, thick lips, glasses, beady little slanted droopy harsh eyes, bad wrinkles around his mouth from frowning, and long greasy hair to imply that he isn't big on personal hygiene.

At the same time, he was strange, eccentric, but not completely stupid. He was not a great scientist but he was not stupid. He cared about no one and nothing else, not even his own child. He cared only about science and playing God. I think he just wanted there to be a higher power in some way and tried to use science to find it or create it. That's why he created dragons and cared about the ancients and tried to see if his son could achieve god hood.
