Description
Oil painting - 40" x 60" (101cm x 152,5cm)Wow! Thank a lot for the DD! It's my third one and it's always such a pleasure! I'm especially glad I got a DD for that particular piece because I had been 2 years without working with oils at all, and it took me 10 months to complete it. So it feels even more rewarding!
Big thanks to the suggester, AdigunPolack and to wdwparksgal for featuring it!
And thanks to every one for the nice comments and the favourites!
Sorry you can't actually see the real painting, it looks so much better in the flesh. If anyone's interested, I posted some close-up images on my blog. You can get a better feeling of what the real painting looks like:

It's so rare nowadays to see traditional paintings look this realistic and fantastical all at the same time, I assumed it was digital because it's so real and cleanly done! That's really pretty bad ass XD

Thank you. Actually, I had to clean it a bit digitally because the photograph didn't reflect really well the effect achieved in the real painting. The real painting has a textured background, even though all white, so it's quite subtle. It just didn't translate very well on the photograph, but in real it looks neat. The character is pretty close to the real thing though. The closeups on my blog depict a better representation of the real painting I think...

So, I looked at the close up images. The amount of detail that you gained in this piece is remarkable, and the feel, even though its paint and canvas and I know what it feels like I can almost feel the texture that you've created for that skin, its gorgeous. One of those things I wish I could see in person. Good job.
