Here's a photo of my Dark Link cosplay.

I built the sword and sheath with help from Aaron at fiberglassblades.com. He also helped me modify one of his old shields (this involved working with resin, leather, foam, wood, and metal).

The stuff I did on my props included sanding, dremeling, body-filling, hand-filing the details, building the inner frame, resin casting, making and assembling leather straps, lining the inside of the sheath, building the hook apparatus, so the shield could stay on my back, wrapping the sword handle, spraying primer, etc, but I couldn't have done it without my friend's help.

As for the costume, I tailored the tunic by hand, modifying the fit and adding details to the sleeves and chest. I also made the chainmail, styled the wig, and painted the ears. I also assembled the leather harness to keep the sheath on my back and installed snap buttons and velcro to keep it secure on the front.

The costume took about six months to put together, but it was a fun and satisfying process.
