Description
Commissioned by David Sullens, the dragon form of his character, Kiryi. This took me a while, since it's my first time getting a commission for a dragon! And I'm always trying to try new things with underwater shots

I think wings would be more of a hinderance under water unless they didn't drag...I like her pose and the lighting makes it seem like this is set in a tropical environment. I'm faving this.

I am absolutely a dunce on wing dynamics, although even if I weren't, I still draw exactly as I'm told.. Part of being an artist for hire, lol. It *is* supposed to be set in a tropical environment, so I'm really happy you said that ^^ Thanks!

First dragon drawing
I mean, I've doodled dragons before, and sort of drawn them in as part of a design, but never as the main subject!

For your first time drawing a dragon, it came out pretty neat.
I hate to get into details, but outstretched wings would be a hindrance underwater. They wouldn't allow free movement.

Thanks
I'm no aviation expert, I just draw what I'm told Although the person who commissioned it did mention that those wings are used for swimming, not flying

I'm no expert either, but I know wings that large will act as brakes underwater. They would be more efficent if they were shaped like a penguin's or were completely gone.

Mubby, it uses the wings as brakes. And closes the wings when it wants to accelerate.
