Description Varanus "Megalania" priscus

The largest terrestrial lizard ever to walk the planet and the apex predator of the Pleistocene Outback up to about 45,000 years ago. Megalania, the Komodo Dragon, and Quinkana ruled the outback with the only mammalian competitor they faced was the "Marsupial Lion" Thylacoleo. What's more amazing is that early Aboriginal Australians likely encountered all predators of the Outback including this gigantic lizard.
The size of this giant is hotly debated among paleontologists. Lengths ranging from 10 feet (3m) to an unbelievable 36 feet (11m). However, it's now believed to be approximately around halfway between those estimates, at approximately 20ft for an average individual. Weight is something that is also a unknown, however, given the scale of the various vertebrae and the humerus, it was probably far heavier than the largest Komodo Dragon, perhaps over a ton in weight.
Unfortunately even this beautiful predator was unable to avoid extinction 45,000 years ago. Why it went extinct is a topic of debate. However, climate change and perhaps a human cause of extinction could have played a role in its extinction as well.

Another main character for the next episode of PMP.

First and foremost I took the model and (MOST) of the skin from SamStudioDesign

However, I did make some changes to the skin and a bit more to the mesh. What I did was flesh out the body more and gave it more bulk since this was a lizard that weighed more than a ton. I made the elbows and knees wider so it could support the bulk of the organism and it is actually supported by fossil evidence since the humerus was wider in Megalania fossils compared to other Monitor Lizards. Furthermore, the head I made slightly longer.
Furthermore, I added a crest to the head. A lot of paleoartists include this crest, as well as some fossil casts of the animals I've seen online.

I may have made it a bit more exaggerated, but it's not beyond reason to imagine it could have had more flesh/keratin on it. Plus, I wanted something to differentiate it rather than just a giant monitor lizard.
