TGMD = The Great Mouse DetectiveMy entry for the December contest of
~> [link]
Yeaaaaah. The most clichΓ© Christmas drawing theme.
But I never drew that before, so there~ xD
Birdie was celebrating her first Christmas
as a mouse living on her own.
Desperate to do something fun outside,
enjoying the Christmas atmosphere along the streets,
she contacted everybody she knew.
And of course... everybody was occupied.
Leaving her with one last restort: Basil of Baker Street,
the great mouse detective she once was involved with on a case.
As Basil didn't had any plans, and frustratingly for him nobody
needed him for a case, he just gave in.
And this is were they ended up too.
Birdie with a cup of tea, Basil with a glass of wine.
And some Christmas tree who decided to be there as well. xD
Yesssss.

Aww, what a nice cozy little Christmas scene! The detail is amazing, it looks like there's a glow coming from it, and both Birdie and Basil look wonderful. I love their outfits
Amazing work on this

Aww, that's actually very sweet. ^^ I'm normally cautious with BAsilxOC pairings because few so few pull them off, but this is a bindle of adorableness!

Thankyou very much <3
It means a lot that these two look good in one drawing
I was cautious myself of making this a pairing...
I was going to make them only acquaintances, involved in a case at first, but my fangirl self couldn't resist

I fangirl over Basil quite a bit too. ^^ Well, mostly Ratigan. XDD But your OC is adorable! I love her name too!

Ratigan is one of the most badass villains of Disney!
And aww, thankyou... I brainstormed quite a lot over that name ^_^

Basil's expression is what keeps bringing me back to this picture. It's a shame there isn't very many holiday-related fan art with this universe. It's nice to see more and more being created. This is a beautiful and festive scene.

Thankyou so much <3
Yeah, true, there definitely should be more holiday themed art for TGMD.
I might just draw Basil getting all cosy in front of his fireplace... I mean, that fireplace just screams Christmas atmosphere!

You're welcome!
It's true, you should do that! Fireplaces are a perfect (no pun intended) hot spot for Christmas decorations. I found a screencap of a view of Basil's fireplace with no one around. I digitally inserted some holiday clip art.

Ah yes, now I'm even more in the mood for a fireplace drawing!
Always fun using screencaps of Disney background, and then draw something of your own on top...
Of course with the right credit for the background

Wonderful! My grandparents have a fireplace in their home, but I never got to see it lit. They decided never to use it because it was too much of a hassle. I really wish I could have seen it at some point in my life.
Oh, yes. Always on the credit. I've not only made it into a habit to credit Disney and Eve Titus every time, but to credit the exact animator when sharing a specific character drawing or background art. I've learned the Β© symbol by heart: Alt+0169.
