Description
Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is believed to have been the largest theropod that the world has ever seen. It certainly was the longest. This weird dinosaur lived in Africa and possibly also South America in the mid Cretaceous. It was semi-aquatic, with proportionately short legs, a distinctively enormous sail on its back, enormous laterally flattened tail for aquatic locomotion and a long snout. All these characteristics make this dinosaur a pretty unique creature. It hunted largely aquatic prey like giant actinistians, condrichthyans, large ray-finned fish, crocodylomorphs, turtles, etc.
