Description
Scathasuchus europaeus, also known as scatha, is the most common dragon in the future Tolkien Formation. It is a flightless dragon, however, it still retains a good portion of his wings, even though they are mostly disfunctional, only using the fifth finger of the hand to support the remaining patagium of the wing. The longest part of the wing displays a bright red spot that is used for display. The scatha is quite simillar to glaurung ( www.deviantart.com/yellowpandaβ¦), but is instead most related to smaug and ancalagon, with scatha and glaurung developing flightlessness convergently. Although the glaurung is the top land predator of the region, it is rarer than the scatha, which is slower and a pure necrophagous, using its weaker jaws to bite dead animals, instead. The scatha raids carcasses in groups, and despite intraspecific struggles are common, they are more keen to tolerate each other than other dragons, which are more solitary.Related content

Interesting how the display markings are only on the tips of the wings.
