Description
In the Yama planet, a team of scientists report the discovery of a new species of orb-eye purplepug. The affecionately called Seymour's giant purplepug (Megalarvacaon seymouri) is the largest species of purplepug yet discovered. These are very defined by the presence of a large orb-like eye that distinguishes these types of alien lifeforms. Above the eye there are three ocelli, much simpler than the larger compound eye. They have a pair of rows of spiracles, protected under a retractable muscular slit that is used for breathing atmospherical air. It has two pairs of legs that end in suction cups, perfect to cling to tree branches and other surfaces. They have enormous tentacles that serve as antennae for catching scent particles, communicate and even expel feromones, and that's how the purplepugs find each other. They have a pair of spiracles, in the flanks, to expel waste. They are slow creatures and rather fragile in structure, but have a foul odor, smelling like rotten eggs, and are poisonous when eaten, which grants them resistance against predators. Being purple allows it to camouflage perfectly in the flora of this world. Its mouth is located in the "chest", where it expels a proboscis, that ends in a jaw filled with huge teeth that grind floral matter and feed this creature. They lay eggs and are hermaphrodites.
