Leedsichthys problematicus was among the largest ray-finned fish the world has ever seen. This titanic fish could reach astonishing lengths of up to 17 meters in length. It was a large filter feeder that lived in the oceans of the Mid-Late Jurassic period. It doesn't seem to have any defined close relatives, other than it was a neopterygiians belonging to a very diverse lineage of fish that was abundant across the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
