Description
The second in my series of "The Phantom of the Opera" fashion sketches, this one portrays Christine Daae as she appears in the beginning of the first act of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical. The costume is a ballet outfit that's a Victorian representation of a Carthaginian slave dancer. It features a richly embellished color-blocked leotard and a "rope" skirt that fastens around the hips with a gold belt. Different productions of the show use different variations of this costume; my sketch is based off the US version, where the ropes are color-blocked to match the leotard and the breastplate is made of beaded strands that drape across the bust.I painted this using Photoshop Elements and a Wacom digital tablet.
