Description
Fifth in my series of fashion sketches based on the costumes from Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, this is the lovely "star princess" costume worn by Christine during the masquerade ball. The original bodice is heavily beaded and made of silk that's been airbrushed for an ombre effect. The skirt is likewise airbrushed; underneath are many layers of pink and blue tulle, which show whenever Christine twirls. Strands of silver stars hang down the skirt, and she wears a crescent moon tiara, suggesting a theme of dusk or dawn.
