Description
(2009) This is my first custom pony Angel again. I have now curled her hair like I had intended it to be from the start and I think it turned out great! What do you think?

I haven't tried it yet myself but basically you wet the hair, then curl it around straw like you would curl your hair around a curler "the little thingys for making curls". Then you pin it and leave it for a few days. If you want really tight, permanent curl, you carefully dip the hair in boiling water after you've curled it around the straw.
I'm aiming for nice, gentle, loose ones so I'll be just wetting and curling, not boiling.

I see. I might try it out some day, but mostly I prefer the curls to look a little more loose and free. Looks more "natural".

Well, maybe, if I ever get more time and can afford tools and such. For now, craft-wise, I'll stick to counted cross stitch and bead animals.

You don't really need any tools for pony customization. Brushes, paint, glossy sealer/lacquer, needle and thread. That's the basic. If you need/want to repaint a pony I recommend an airbrush or spray can though with acrylic colours. Painting them also works, but looks less nice and smooth.
*lol* Yes, do that! That's a great thing too! And a bit original too I think. Haven't seen anything like that before anyway.
