I did try to put stuff in weird places a lot, in one of the test chambers you'll find the trash, and I had so much fun playing with it and trying to put them all on the button to hold it down.

What's the "defiant" achievement for? Never played Half-Life.

at the beginning of the game, there's a trooper that order you to throw a can in the trash (if you do, you win another achievement, like "submissioner" or something), but you can throw it at him instead, and then you win the "Defiant" achievement
