Description
A short explanation of how I used Google SketchUp to help make this painting: [link]The screenshot of the model was used as a sketch for the painting and was painted on top of.
This helps you get the correct perspective without having to do perspective drawing.
It also lets you adjust the viewing angle to get the best composition, without having to redraw everything. This is very convenient.
I used the free version of Google SketchUp. If you want to try it, you can get it here: [link]

I started out with pyramids because they're simple shapes and easy to make. Maybe you can start with something similar?
I'm doing a medieval-style corridor for my next picture. That's also easy because I only have to make one piece of the corridor, and copy-paste it a bunch of times to complete it, and it ends up looking more complex than it is, which is good. Tricks like that make architecture easy. Organic shapes are more difficult.
