Why didn't you color the scores?

The Return of Jafar would've likely not turned out so despised had Disney ever come forward and said what it really was, the pilot for a planned television series.

Can't really say as I haven't really see "The Return of Jafar". I suppose I might lean slightly to the former as it least an Aladdin sequel was something a lot of people wanted and had the movie been given more time and attention (and a bigger budget) it probably would've been a modest success. Rainbow Rocks really had a lot going against it from the start, hardly anyone wanted Equestria Girls to have a sequel, and while it's clear they at least put some effort into it, it really doesn't feel like it did enough to justify being made. Perhaps if the movie had been stretched to an hour and a half and pony Twilight was dropped completely, it would've worked, using ponies in "Rainbow Rocks" was a mistake. It just cemented the series was too afraid to stand on its own, so had to depend on its parent franchise to get anyone interested.

Well, I highly recommend seeing "The Return Of Jafar", as I personally see it as underrated.

I never saw Rainbow Rocks. I did see Return of Jafar, and I did enjoy it. Funny fact, the plan was for it to be a theatrical sequel, but the failure of The Rescuers Down Under meant that it was moved to TV Special status, then switched to movie format because Disney wanted to milk more cash out of its customers. The fact that it was gonna air on free TV is probably why it's so decent compared to the rest: you act a lot more genuine to impress when you can't rip off your customer who might just leave if you're bad.

I will go with Rainbow Rocks. I really like Return of Jafar, but more elements of Rainbow Rocks work together compared to RoJ. The soundtrack is the best of the Equestria Girls movies, in my opinion, Sunset's arc is amazing, the villains are so much fun, and the climax is one of my favorites in any movie.

Personally, I would go with Rainbow Rocks. Return Of Jafar is alright for what it is, but I dont remember any of the songs (Aside from You're Only Second Rate) and the story felt too much like a TV Pilot (which it actually is). Sure, the writing is decent and the characters are atill fine, but it's just alright. Rainbow Rocks on the other hand made everything from the first Equestria Girls film alot more cinematic, intruiging, and fun, especially with the villains, the songs, the animation and more.
