i use the image for help on the hands and on calcifer, but did the rest by hand, and am happy with how my first drawing of howl ending up looking.

Very nice! I really like Howl's expression here. He has a very tender gaze, like he's watching over a dear friend. (I mean, I know it's his own heart in there, but I've always liked the idea that there was more than just a contract between these two. I like to think they actually care about each other more than it seems.)
Anyway, very good job on this drawing. The characters look exactly as I remember from the movie, and I like how the bright coloring against a dark background really makes it look like the light is coming from Calcifer.
