Since I'm still without a tablet pen, and I'm bored beyond my mind's capacity, I decided to take a few screen shots from various games I mentioned in that one journal I made a week or 2 back.No one really seemed interested in me TALKING about the whole game sprite thingy, so I figured I'll SHOW some instead. :m
Sorry for the crappy overlaying job. It was an "in the moment" kinda thing, so I wasn't worried about neatness. :m
Anyways.... the games the sprites are from..... The top 2 are from the classic version of Spelunky, which has gotten an HD remake since then. I don't have that version. But anyways, I have both playable YoshiMan, and YoshiGirl(who is the Damsel that the main dude is supposed to save, but you can unlock her by clearing a few challenges within the game.)
The huge one that most of the other things are overlayed over is a screenshot from Hammerwatch. It's kinda like the ol' classic Gauntlet games. You know.... with the Warrior/Paladin, the Elf/Archer, the Wizard/Mage etc... Well I'm a Ranger cuz I always play the Archer/Bowman/Ranger class in these old timey Fantasy games. :mΒ
The one to the right most of the big one is from La-Mulana. Anawesomely hard Metroidvania game that was hella fun, and frustrating, at times. LOLz, I accidentally did something in the game to turn it up to Hard Mode, so I pretty much played through it on the tougher setting. Anyways, I'm getting hurt by a Fish thing with legs. Not too weird, right? :n
The really cold looking one is from 1001 Spikes. The Antarctica levels, to be exact. That's why I'm sporting a cool little parka. :m But yeah, I have a TON of character sprites made for this one. Another tough as hell, Trial and Error Platformer type game. I had, and STILL have insane amounts of fun with this game. Even more with all my added characters in it. :m Probably goes down as one of my favorites of all time. At least, for this particular genre of game. Oh, and hey look..... a Penguin. :v
This one's kinda unfamiliar to any cuz it's from my own game. I used a Mario gaming engine to make this, so I can't take all the credit for it... Only my own character sprites. Anyways, there's 4 pieces of this one cuz I wanted to fill in some of the emptiness of the page. :n Simple as a Pimple gets... it's screenshots showing my 4 playable Yoshi characters, YoshiMan, YoshiGirl, YoshiDude, and Yashie(who seems to be a little frightened by that Dry Bones over there. XP). Maybe one day I'll post it up for all to play, but right now, I'm still trying to add things to it, like new characters, and new levels and stuff. But what with work, and commissions, and all that stuff, I kinda haven't had much time to do so. :1 Ah well...
Anyways..... that's all for now.

BAM! A SSB4 Replay. :b I didn't really care to make a YT account just to post vids on it, but seeing as I couldn't post art, and I wanted to post SOMETHING, I was like... okay... sure.... I'll try this out a time or 2. Who knows.... maybe I'll post more.... maybe I won't. But yeah.... If you don't know..... I'm the Green Yoshi. LOLz don't let the Jigglypuff's SD fool you, they were actually a really good player. Everyone in this room was. This was just one of my crowning Yoshi matches that I wanted to show off. :b

Wow, your character's popular enough to get DLC starring cameo roles in all these amazing classic games. He'll just cross over into anything these days!
Kidding aside, I'm always rather impressed with your ability to retool games to get your characters to appear in them. It's awesome enough you've made your own levels in the past with them, but yeah...getting them into the main source games themselves is pretty slick.
We need a YoshiMan texture hack for Smash 4.

Anything that contains .png files, that is. :m There are plenty of games that use .xnb files, but I don't have the program(s) needed to do so. I've tried and tried, but could never get anything to work. =___= I'll solve the mystery one of these days...
Yeah.... Surely you know my spriting past. Some years back, the idea came of wanting to make games, so I looked into it, and Game Maker popped up, and lent itself into my possession. :v And from there, I looked into sprite editing for games that were already made. So I could enjoy my favorite games even more than I do now. It was just a matter of looking through the game's files and figuring out where the sprites that I wanted to edit, were. :m Thus the magnificence above was born. :b
That would be the best thing ever. :m Maybe some day I can work my way into hacking 3D models, and the like..... But for now, gotta go with what I know. (2D)

Yeah, I've seen your journals reaching out for help in those areas. It's always such a pain trying to track down help for something seemingly simple as a save format. Back years ago I never even knew of the .xcf format which allows you to save GIMP files as true WIPs with individual layers intact and all instead of merging all the current layers together in a document. Boy that would have made my life plenty easier on some things.
Yep, goes pretty far back I'd say in your case. I remember the Pi days, and you having people try out your game and check it out for themselves. Even was impressed with your animated MS Paint sprites; those always looked so expressive and had smooth frame transitioning. And your M&L
Sure would be even cooler than just doodling over an in-game screenshot of Yoshi. xP I've seen other people do it with their characters too, but there's just something even better and special about seeing some formo@ of your character actually in motion within the game itself.

Are you a member of the Mario Fan Games Galaxy members because it reminds me a lot of those types like Yoshi vs. Windows and Psycho Waluigi.
I would be all front forward to have fan games as virtual console games for the Nintendo NX or even Wii U but I doubt that. 
Great sprites, how guys like you never get hire By Nintendo is mind boggling but it is hard to speak Japanese, trying I am, but you need extreme dedication.

1, cuz Nintendo doesn't make as many sprite based games as they used to. Not to mention that not only Nintendo works with spriting, so really, anyone could pick me up. Β And 2, this is why there are other Nintendo Head Quarters outside of Japan..... aka Nintendo of America, and Nintendo of Europe. So you don't need to know Japanese to work for Nintendo.Β

Well since he has had history as Nintendo of America and he predicted the Wii U would fail. I will get one this Christmas but Nintendo was getting way too cocky for it when it was first released. Also Ubisoft and EA have been too greedy.Β

Yeah even I have started to develop a lot on other characters for different game play like rosalina and luma, (They feel like popo and nana in their fighting style) Kirby, I love he is just so underated in his skills and specials, though I need to practice I prefer the cute and a lot of his air moves are great.

And it's actually quite simple, if you get them on steam. It's just a matter of going into your program files-> steamapps, and finding the game's files to edit.

Do you like, or know what Gauntlet is?
If so, then yes. If not then I still say it's worth getting. It's not very long, and you CAN get lost in it, but it's still pretty cool. The music alone sells the game, to me, at least.
If you have Steam, you may wanna hurry, it's normally $10, but for the next 22 hours, you can get it for only $2.49. $7.49 if you wanna buy 4 games for you and 3 of your friends to play. (Yes, it has online co-op play.)
