I’ve always have an appreciation for the Shantae series since I played the original on the Game Boy Color after picking it up on a Garage sale. The gameplay is great and only improved with each new entry of the series. But of course, the main reason I like the game are the fun characters. Shantae, Risky, Bolo, Sky, Rotty and Mimic all have a lot of personality and really help move stories that can be silly, serious and especially charming.
So I wanted to draw a picture with all six of them in a fan art piece, but of course focus on that rivalry between Shantae and Risky Boots. Because as long as the games do well, and they should, that rivalry will scuttle on until ad infinitum!

Okay, so...here's the deal. You've been getting better over the past few months, and I've said that so many times. But listen to me right here, right now: This...is where you have truly surpassed all else and shown what you are truly made of. Even everything recently. Dude, this resembles a piece of official promotional artwork you might see in an old-school instruction manual or a poster or any other video game media. Yet it still infuses your signature style seamlessly so it doesn't look like a direct replica of the style itself. This is probably the best example of attaining a near pitch-perfect balance between the source material and staying unique. If you enjoy creating those types of pieces where it greatly resembles the original but still is a true-blue YU original, then keep doing whatever it is you've done here. Because you clearly nailed this one right out of the park.
Truly stunning, I honestly have no words to ultimately justify the tremendous progress you've made by leaps and bounds. The characters look terrific and very much WayForward-esque, the rivalry between Shantae and Risky is illustrated in a great showdown moment with curious onlookers standing by, and the scenery combined with the creative perspective rounds out a totally cool composition inspired by your admirable love for the series. The details and the color application....the shading, man! Super slick and will honestly say I did not expect such a jump in top-tier quality so soon from you. I've never played a single second of any of the Shantae games but I'm still tossing a

Thanks, man! I'm happy that you feel that way because I've honestly felt like my art has been improving by getting more cleaner and overall more presentable these days. I'm learning a bit more overtime everyday that helps me better what I can do these days, but I'm also feel much more motivated to continue to better myself. I'm back to working on school work again so things are going to be a bit slow, but I still plan to upload a lot of work and to keep going with as many pictures as I can.

That's excellent news, dude. Yeah, you've been infusing your work lately with a lot more clarity and sharper detail than you previously ever were able to before. Part of that has to do with your jump into digital media, but also because you've learned to harness your prowess honed in on while having worked with traditional watercolor as long as you had been. Really impressive efforts you've been putting on display lately.
