Description “The depth of darkness to which you can descend and still live is an exact measure of the height to which you can aspire to reach.”
-Pliny the Elder

This was bit of a struggle.
I knew how I wanted it to look, but my skills left quite a few things to be desired.

I just wanted that air of mystery surrounding them during the descent scene...

Full view, s’il vous plaît.

To me, that's a great compliment, so thank you for that.
The stage show is very dear to me, so I try hard to do right by it.

Thank you, love.

This is so nice. I like the light and how it looks a little big foggy. Very mysterious.

Every time I watch the show, this is one of the moments when I really, really wish I could take pictures.
But alas, since photo-taking is not allowed during the performance, I had to come up with a different way of capturing the moment.

Thanks for your comment!

Nice composition. =3 You've balanced it out very nicely and the hazy, enigmatic feel comes across effectively. You communicated the atmosphere really well and the scene almost comes to life.

Thank you for that.
I'm not used to doing a side-long piece, but this I knew I wanted to present it in a "widescreen" format, as it were.
The atmosphere is very important to me, so I am thrilled by your comment.

Thanks again.

Thank you!
That's what I love about that moment - the descent into unknown.
And the lighting is just exquisite during the scene, too...
I'm tickled that it seems to come across.

Thanks again.

Welcome!

I've never seen the stage version on Broadway, but I wish I had to see the amazing actors. You apparently make it like I am there.
(Is this anything like the art called "Impressionism"?)

Attending a show on Broadway is an experience in and of itself.
I admit, I am a bit spoiled, living only an hour away.
If I can share even a shred that tingling feeling I get with others, I am content.

Thanks again.

I live several states away, but would occasionally leave for New York (but only twice in my life have I).

You are welcome...again.

Thank you for that.
I know - I just have to remind myself that critical observation is important, but being my own worst critic is not productive.
I am doing this for fun and love of it, after all.

Thanks again.

Thank you!
This took a while, lots of trial and error involved.
I am rather fond of it, maybe because of all those struggles.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.

That's what makes art, art. It's what you learn from it to get better and better. Trial ad error is important. But I think it turned out wonderful.

I'm always happy to comment on your artwork.
