Description
Wait... what?She finally did it?
She submitted her tutorial which is actually finished since more than half a year? (I just had to put everything together... but I'm sooo lazy XD)
I DID IT!
And it was so much work! XD This thing here almost killed me. But I hope it can help you! >3<
I tried my best to explain everything x.x If you have got any questions feel free to ask.
OK I'M DONE XD
Thanks to and who helped me correcting mistakes XD
If you see any of them: I don't care XD (it was so much work!!!)
MEDIA USED: Faber Castel Polychromo Color Pencils
Character: Michiru Kaioh (c) Naoko Takeuchi
Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon
Hope you like it
Mistakes I saw too late:
I wrote "grey" wrong... WTH. Three times! WHY?
Somewhere I wrote techniques wrong.
EDIT: OK thank you, some of you told me that both spellings gray and grey are right. XD THANKS <3

Sorry people! >.< This time I just don't manage to answer all comments ;3; I'd love to but there are too many of them! I read every single comment and appreciate it!
PS: If you want to buy some of that stuff, I'd recommend to search on amazon.com!

i love it!!! just by the way, gray can be spelled either way. I feel grey is darker, and gray is softer. (as in denotation)

Nice tutorial! It's not how I was taught but it's a good way to do it and gives nice results! I especially enjoy your way of going back over the pencil lines with colored pencil, it gives the whole piece such a nice cohesion.
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but the reason the darker shadows vanish after a few days is because the wax in the pigment rises. The easiest and quickest way to avoid this is to, when you're fully done with the piece, use some spray fixative on it. It'll protect the image and keep that foggy look from appearing!

Thank you so much for this! I have recently dug out my colouring pencil set and was wondering how to tackle a picture. Normally I'd have inked it but I don't always want a black outline to it. I can't believe what you did for the outlines was so simple lol! This is a brilliant tutorial and I will definitely fave this so I have it as future reference!
One last thing, when you scan it in how do you get it to look bold and stand out? If it a case of altering the levels in Photoshop or tweaking the Hue and Saturation?

YueYuki In reply to EchoChase [2012-05-26 11:10:42 +0000 UTC]
Sorry for the late reply!
I'm not sure if I understood your question right, so please tell me if I did
I guess you are talking about the lines, right? I exalt the contrast and change the levels till I think the scan looks good :3
