Description
A friend of mine wanted to see a fighter sized aircraft that resembled the B-2 so I drew up this concept.Related content

B-2 was a follow-on from the Northrop B-35/B-49. Northrop and the Horten Brothers were bothΒ advocates of flying wing aircraft.

that's an interesting way of putting it. I was going for more of a combo of the F-22 and the B-2.

This seems to be a similar concept to the A-12 Avenger II --- with the exception that the F-202 actually LOOKS RIGHT.
There's an old saying in the aircraft deign industry; "If it looks right, it IS right."

It's like an updated verion of the Ho 229, an experimental German flying-wing fighter.

Kind of, but this is a much larger fighter than the german prototype and I based it more off the B-2 Spririt.

The B-2 evolved from the German jet.

True. I simpy used more of the B-2's angular trailing edge as well as weapons bay internal set up. I also integraded more the various stealth aspects into the desing.

Thanks, I couldn't help but put a lot of details considering I drew this at actual size using a program called AutoCAD.

I've heard of it but never used it myself

good details especially the wingtips, but would that mean that this has a lower payload? since it needs its weapons in its engine intakes and by the looks of it seems small

It's not a small aircraft, but that's an understandable observation considering I didn't clutter the picture with diomentioning. had I done so you would fien that this aircraft is the same length as the F-22 and twice the width. As for the payload, the intake only holds one AIM-9 each while the internal fusalage bays hold the AIM-120s, much like how a B-2 carries it's payload.

ah i see, so its a small bomber?
sorry I really can distinguish missle ordnances but the aim 9 is a sidewinder right? but i dunno whats the aim120

No it's a fighter. The AIM-9 is the sidewinder. The AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Mid-Range Air-to-Air Missile) Aor if you want to use Ace Combat terms, AIM-120s are XMAAs.

XMAA...oh that one that fires 4 missles in 4 different targets? I take a look at wikipedia and i thought its the radar guided missile (the one with you have to constantly aim the circle to the target)

XMAAs are AIM-120s on the american aircraft with in the game. They are fire and forget weapons so once they get a lock they are guided by their own radar.
