Default Jane Shepard, Default John Shepard, Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3. Mass Effect 3: Ending. Normandy SR-2.

I, the commissioner, have not seen or spoiled myself with the ending, but I heard from many fans that it was bad, beyond bad.

So this is my take on the ending.

You can make up whatever kind of story you want after ME 3 with this pair.

Whether or not you see them as siblings from an alternate future, or (my take on the pair since Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale were AMAZING VOICE ACTORS! ) star-crossed lovers searching for one another, you can view them from a different point-of-view (POV).

We need to have some happy ending for both Shepards, agreed? Even with customized Sheps. You, as the RPer of Shepard, the Commander of the universe's best and badass crew of the Normandy SR-2, would like to have a ending with your love-interest, or if you played Shepard as an asexual and the big, fat hero/ine of the whole known Universe, you would naturally want to have a good ending or if you're that morbid, a bad ending where Shepard and the whole Universe dies along with the Reapers.

I view both Jane and John Shepard as separate people because of Jennifer and Mark's wonderful VA (Voice Acting), but you see this as incest or down right squicky, then by all means, use some of that handy brain bleach and go away from the page. No one is forcing you to see this.

I'm such a romantic. A wonderful and happy ending here on Earth with the one you love.

Both Shepards are very strong people. They hold the whole universe in their hands, and as such have experienced much trauma in their lives as a solider and a Spectre.

They have friends like:

Joker, Ashley Williams, Kaidan Alenko, EDI, Laira, Tali'Zorah vas Normandy, Garrus Vakarian, James Vega, Kasumi Goto, Grunt, Wrex, Admiral Hackett, Thane Krios, Legion, Miranda Lawson, Jacob Taylor, Mordin Solus, Doctor Chakwas, Jack, Zaeed Massani, and Javik (insert character I haven't named here)

beside them the whole time.

It must have been really lonely to be the leader and role-model for many of them. Living the horrors of war in ME1 and losing a close friend and ally in Virmire to being the emotional crutch in ME 2 and finally trying to save the Universe with few allies and close friends at hand, I can't believe what kind of nightmares, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and fear both Shepards have to get through and start the day.

They are both human beings, both longing for peace they never had or wanted to have, regardless of what kind of background you chose for your Shepard. Thus, me being the romantic and wanting to spread the love for both Sheploo and Femshep, they deserve a bit of happiness, don't you agree?

To feel safe and warm in the arms of a person you trust with your heart, body, and soul, is like something out of a fairy tale. To sleep peacefully for once without the nightmares with the little boy Shepards failed to save, it feels like heaven to both of them.

I'm thinking lowering your guard around a person is hard enough when you have to save the world, but what comes after? Lowering your defenses around a person you love and trust can be difficult for many people. It means that you're vulnerable and wide open for attack.

Being strong for so long in order to save the entire universe, I can see why John and Jane refuse to open up their hardened heart to anyone unless you romanced one of your crew members on the ship.

I want them both to be happy, to not hide who they are and what made them "them", to feel safe and live a semi-normal life away from the bloodshed, sweat, and tears they both gave to the Alliance, Cerberus, and to the Universe.

Time and again, they proved themselves to be capable in everything they put their mind to. What about love? Who's the person that's going to pick Shepard up when s/he falls?

Who's going to love Shepard for the person s/he is? Who's going to fully accept her/his faults and mistakes?

Who's going to laugh at Shepard when s/he dances so horribly?! (LOL, god if there's something they both can't do it's dancing) Who's going to whisper sweet nothings in her/his ear as they fall asleep?
