My Beloved Anika
In all her Glory and Beauty
I miss her so so so much
It is an old picture. Taken in March 2006 with my first digital camera a Konica Z2.
Perhaps it will be my entry for 's May Mini Contest : Take a Look Inside [link]
I think I prefer this one as "LOOK" [link] But I still don't know as I find the one with Nahum feets great with the subject of the contest.

but the last two months or so he was really ill, and nobody seemed to know what it was and how to cure it, so I guess it's better he's gone than suffering after all...

Thank you so much for your sweet words. My sweet little Anika was already 7 years and half when she became sick (lymphoma and Insulinoma). With specific medications and regular vet visits, Anika was stabilized for one more year. In USA and Canada 8-9 years old is considerate as great, and we are so lucky when they can reach this age. Anika came from a private breeder and she was neutered at the age of 3, for this reason she was healthy for many years. It is not the case of others ferrets who come from big breeder as the companies Marshall or Hagen, who neuter/spay the babies before to send them to the petshops. Neutered/spaying to young makes our ferrets sick. The illness is the cancer of the glands adrenal. They get this after the age of 2 years old, mostly around 4 years old. Nahum and Bear have this illness. Because neutered too early they continually producing hormones which can cause the adrenal glands to enlarge...
