I actually saw a picture a few weeks ago that compared the two versions, and they said that maybe one of the robots got bored and decided to fix her makeup. XD

I thought the same exact thing when I saw how much better Chell's Portal 2 model looked when compared to her original model.

Yeah. I think in reality it's just that they were limited in what they could do for the first one, so they made everything prettier for Portal 2. It's just kinda funny if you imagine their appearances were canon for both games. ^^
