Description
As desert runkeys advanced out of the desert once again, problems arised. They were simply unable to cope. Being insectivorous and rarely ever consumed the plant life in the desert. Normally this wouldn't be much of a problem, as insects were also found outside of the desert too. But in this case, it was a problem. You see, scorpions are rarely found outside of the desert. Some species also exist on plains, but they are burrowers and hide deeply within the taterweed and the ground, being a hassle to catch. Although the monkeys have more advanced perception and sensory abilities, this is still useless as they lack the means to actually catch them when they hide deep underground. Some runkeys specced into digging abilities, although still inferior to tuber's abilities, they still manage to cling on somehow. But another branch decided to go for a more daring strategy.Introducing, snatchers. Having evolved from desert runkeys, they have had a rather brought start. At first, snatchers had to alternate between desert and plains life, as they frequented between to find food. Early snatchers often scavenged, as that was an entirely untapped food source, the dead bodies of monkeys only being feasted on by butterflies(which lay their eggs in the dead body) and earthworms. Although a rich food source, this mostly wasn't enough to sustain their diet, and so they had to return to the deserts to feed occasionally. As time went on, snatchers became more daring, attacking the various young of other monkeys. Although the other monkeys were thought to deal with, snatchers evolved to be larger and utilizing their large arms, they pin down their prey and finish it off with a deadly bite.
