Robin from Fisheye Placebo looking melancholic in the city night. I wanted her eyes to resemble the fisheye lens of her camera. Many people think photography objectively captures reality, but that couldn't further from the truth. A photographer can only capture the reality he/she chooses to see through. The types of lenses used, what's included vs excluded in the photo, camera settings, and countless other things can alter the feeling a photo gives off, and thus reinterpreting the reality seen through the lens.

Photography is a lot more complex than most people give credit for. It is both honest and duplicitous, momentary and timeless, limited and infinite. It was once only possible to take a photograph under the most ideal, controlled circumstances; today, and as the future comes, cameras are becoming more complex, more like and able as the human eye and they can do more than ever.
Sorry, got a little carried away. The picture and your comments moved me to say that. All the more to say it's a fantastic picture, to prompt a response like that. ^_^

Indeed. I studied photography for two years and it amazes me that during that time, people kept on coming up to me and saying how I was so lucky studying such an 'easy' subject that I could just do on my phone. Gosh! *facepalm*
For example, I photographed a landscape of a tourist destination. I could have photographed it during a bright and sunny day, instead, I made the decision to take the photograph when it was grey and misty. I also stood at the other side of a very large industrial fence deliberately putting an obstacle between the picturesqueΒ scene and the viewer. It's things like that I love doingΒ

I'm not sure if there's really much I can say by this point that ten other people haven't already said, but your command of colour and lighting are incredible.Β

Just amazingly beautiful. I not only like eyes matching the lens, but also how they match the prism in the background; and the color of her hair really balances out with the rest of the colors in this. It is really great.
What is Fisheye Placebo?

Also photoshop, photos can use photoshop XD
But in all seriousness, I do like the little touch with the eyes matching the lenses. I probably wouldn't have been able to find it myself, but no that you mention it, I can't un-see it XD
