Had this idea in my head for a long time (like years...) but never got the chance to draw it
Hehe I love creepy stuff. Er, a few people said the title and image reminds them of something like "it takes the helping hands of friends to fly" but I was going for "it takes a lot of sacrifice to rise above others." But you can interpret it however way you want 
People have been saying this reminds them of Nico Robin from One Piece who also had wings of hands. I never watch that show so I had no idea.
If I know how to count, there should be a total of 21 hands in the drawing XD

Hmm, interesting. What I got out of the picture was neither what most of the viewers seem to see nor what you were going for. What I saw was "You have trample down others in order to rise above them."

I love creepy/eerie things, and even this has a certain elegance to it, that gives it something more than just a 'weird creepy thing'. It's beautiful and in a way, morbid, in my opinion. I love it, and that's an understatement.

Well, you could interpret it like this as well: If you have to cut off the wings of a bird to be able to fly, imagine taking the same of a fellow human being. Still as keen to be able to fly?
