Had this idea in my head for a long time (like years...) but never got the chance to draw it
Hehe I love creepy stuff. Er, a few people said the title and image reminds them of something like "it takes the helping hands of friends to fly" but I was going for "it takes a lot of sacrifice to rise above others." But you can interpret it however way you want 
People have been saying this reminds them of Nico Robin from One Piece who also had wings of hands. I never watch that show so I had no idea.
If I know how to count, there should be a total of 21 hands in the drawing XD

hi yuumei, very nice composition in here and also the use of colour gradients. since i am always eager to learn from others, i'd like to ask you how you apply those skin textures. they look quite rough and realistic, not as plain as a normal brush's stroke in photoshop. i would really like to improve my own pics, so it would be really nice if you could tell me this secret

I can't tell how the hands could be sacrifices. They weren't grafted on clearly. Then again, the helping and Friends from the alternate interpretation do not match the expression on her face.

You should try watching one piece. It is a great series ^-^ It never gets old... If you do not like the beginning, that is rather classic, the beginning is rather bizarre, but once you really get into it, it turns out that it can make you cry or tear your hair out is stress. It may be long too, but I think it is worth it. I am currently on episode.... 470 Lol

this looks realy awosome xD the first thing that was on my mind when i saw it (your draving) was that every hand try to stop the persone from flying, even if he wants to go higher, above them, he just can't.
